First rides on shorty--awesome!

Been reading these posts for a year, it convinced me to buy the RX-1. I'm also glad I waited a year for the upgrades. Thanks to all who have posted great info.

I've been riding a '97 700 SX, so most of my impressions are compared to that. Everything has been as advertised with the RX-1--this is one thoroughly satisfied customer.

All the positives have been mentioned many times, but I seem to be having a little trouble with pushing in the corners. The engine brake helps a lot--it really puts a lot of weight on the ski for steering. But when I'm in a corner, I really lose steering even when giving just a tickle on the throttle. It hooks up great with so much power I'm losing ski pressure. I realize there have been many suggestions, but I never really paid attention until I noticed it yesterday.

Help anyone? I don't really drag, it's all trail riding. 165 lbs., I'd like to set it up so I fly on the trails. Don't care about lake racing.

Impressions: I expected more ski lift after reading so much about it. My SX had as much or more. Incredible power and torque, especially considering the reliability of the sled.

Check the adjustments on your transfer rods. Set it for LOW transfer to increase on-power ski pressure. Also try tightening the front limiter straps.

How much of what kind of snow are you riding on? With low or loose snow, there is nothing to bite into for steering.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try one thing at a time and see what I like.

Snow is not really loose, but there's not a lot of it. Maine is way behind on our quota of snow. The push is definitely noticeable in corners when I'm on the throttle. But all in all, it's a pretty minor complaint.

Best part of the whole weekend was on a straightaway as I was passing 3 pols. The lead guy saw me coming and tried to go with me...pinned it and blew him away. Went by too fast to see what model. Smiled for a couple miles after that.
