Almost (90%) decided to buy a WhiteKnuckle QC-1 this season. I do have a few questions for those of you who have one.

-How long did it take to install?
-How much Louder than stock in your opinion? (10%, 20%, 30%)
-If we do all trail riding will this sound drive me and everyone behind me nuts?
-Do I need to re-jet? I run at 1200-1500 Ft fine with stock jetting now.
-Claims are a 2 HP increase but really...can you notice it?
-I have heard all the clips but I would love to get your impressions of the before and after sounds!

Anything else :?:

thanks :D

Can finaly say I have heard the QC1 system. It sounds awesome! I have the GP1 system from White Knuckle Performance, and that one is way too loud for the trail, but for racing, it is awesome! Took less than 2 1/2 hours to install, and if you check in the asphalt results section, under Mod Results, I gained alot in 1/4 mile times. I ordered my systems thru White Knuckle Performance, and just got the QC1 this last week. Haven't tried it on the track yet for gains, but should definetly be better than stock. I can say it is about 20% louder, but passes all decible readings, and has a more tinny sound to it. Give Arne at White Knuckle Performance a call with your elevation, and he can get you close for jetting.

1. 2 hours
2. 10% if that. on a meter it is less but the tone makes it seem slightly louder
3. No
4. Yes. It flows more air.
5. It feels like more. I gained 3-400 RPM while climbing. Impressive
6. I HATE loud exhausts and I LOVE this one.

You won't regret it.

Hey J - I started with the stock system, and changed it after I got some hook up with the 40 durometer track. It went .2-.3 quicker in the 1/4 which is very impressive. But remember, that is the GP1 system for race only purposes. I will try the QC1 exhaust sometime to see change in times. But I heard the QC1 last thursday on a RX1, and it sounds awesome, so I ordered one. It feels like it flows like the GP1, so we will see.

Hey Spray - How have you been?

Whiteknucle exhaust

Spray - did they turn exhaust tips out or are they like the stock. Did anyone look at coating and leaving all the shields out.

Thanks SPRAY. Guys, I really have no experience with jetting these carbs so how do you know with a 4-stroke that you need to re-jet. Do you still check plug colour? Once I run my sled, what would be the determining factor that would tell me YES...I need to re-jet? If it INCREASES Air-Flow I guess that means that it will run leaner right? Will that do damage or will it just not run right?

Thanks

Pinball,

They actually go up now. If you look at the stock exhaust they actuall bend down as they come out so that the tips are parallel with the stock tunnel extension. White knuckle left them straight which makes them go up in comparison to the tunnel extension. You can easily have a rack on there with no exhaust problems. Not sure I would do gas though. There is enough material there you could cut them off and turn them like you did on yours, or maybe just bend them out.

RXWonder,

Jetting is easy. It will cost you less than $15 for jets. WK gives you jetting recomendations based on you altitude and they are pretty darned close. Yes, you check plug color, a nice tan color is what you want. If you did not rejet you would run lean, but not all that much. With a 4 stroke if you run a little lean it will NOT damage the motor. You just won't get the performance you should.
