As per previous posts I had ordered a Simon's CPR Supertune kit from Matt at The Speedshop and had it installed locally by DynoRay up here in NS.

Monday night had a chance to hit the freshly groomed and hard packed railline - AMAZING difference from stock!!

Great sound, hard pulling right to 10400, no hesitation, burbles, or flat spots at all. Wicked fast acceleration up towards top end (did'nt dare hold it WFO for long at night on a 12 foot wide trail but instantly hit 170+ kph on the dream meter ). Seemed to have perfect backshifting when on and off the throttle as well. Even on packed snow it ran cooler than last year even on a relatively mild night ( only -5C ) - ?? more airflow around the engine without the big airbox.

Guys, this is a great set-up for a non-boosted RX!!

Jeff, thanks for such a great product - your claims were right on. You don't get that from every aftermarket manufacturer!

Matt, thank you for dialing in the clutching dead on from half a country away!

Ray, thanks for your usual expert install and tuning - hope to see you soon at Sutherlands.

re supertune kit

rx1007,

The CPR Supertune kit comes with K&N filters (same filter as the ECP kit I'm told) but with machined velocity stacks that press fit onto the carb mouth and a complete evac system ready to install. It completely replaces the stock airbox setup. It comes with a clutch kit with CPR components set up by Matt at The Speedshop.

There are pictures of the kit on a previous post - see "RX Power kit" thread back in November.

I had this thing out again tonight and it flat out rocks! Only now I've got to lessen the weight transfer as it pulls the skis 2 ft off the ground with every touch of the throttle even when you're not intending to launch hard!

Damn I love seeing this. I have mine just about finished, but we lost MOST of out snow today. (40some degrees today)
But all I have to do is the clutching and I am going to rip it down the 3000 foot airstrip in my back yard. (snow or no snow)
I had to put it on hold since I had to finally finish my X-mas shopping.
Can't wait to rip it after I am done though!

Simons CPR Supertune kit

Re the two questions the kit uses the stock primary spring and I have not done anything to the stock silencer yet but am waiting to talk to Jeff Simons about that. In previous posts he mentioned that he has a simple mod that is beneficial - I have'nt got a hold of him to get the details yet. I definately want a bit more agressive sound now that I'm powered up to some extent!

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has a filter kit on ( ECP or Simons ) plus an aftermarket exhaust or a silencer mod - from what I can gather from this forum the opinions re the benefits are divided.
