Wow never heard of that low of engagement, double check it!!!!!""""
That's with the rear end off the ground, the track started spinning at 2,200. If that makes a difference.

Hunt 24/7 I bought a nytro last year and I was just like you.....
Never rode anything that nice just old Polaris indys and such. One piece of advice is learn how long the sled takes to stop it's pretty heavy and trust me I learned the hard way! Lol otherwise like big dog said 600 2 stroke psssssh they won't stand a chance! I raced a 800 ski-doo last year....couldn't keep up at all! You bought a heck of a machine!

Yeah I'll make sure to get the stopping power figured out real quick, don't wan't to go sliding off the trail into the woods!
You guys are getting me all excited! Haha!

Anyone have an idea how much power it has with the upgrades on it & how much weight it's lost?

if you have the intake modded, and you power commander is set up properly, you are probably putting between 10-15 extra hp out. around 140 hp or so. also the mt tamer is roughly 20 lbs lighter than stock.

Awesome! Thanks

Stock the nytro is 138hp so 150ish with mods. Biggest thing you need to get used to is the engine braking. I hardly even use my brakes on the trail. If your in powder you will be fine but keep an eye on it in low snow as the deeper lug tracks and hard pack, low snow or Icy conditions will seize track to sliders (on any make or model). I'm sure this guy has ice scratchers on it from the list of mods so make sure you use them when your in those situations. Also being a mtn sled it won't turn quite as sharp. But enjoy this winter

Sounds like it will be plenty of sled for my first! Lol
He did have scratchers but he put them on another sled, I think I will get Scorchers Ice Scratchers.
Thanks! Winter can't come fast enough!

Not sure what you have, but Cold Gear makes some good snowmobile stuff and a reasonable price. My dad rides cold gear. I bought Klim a couple years ago and never looked back. Expensive, but its the best suit I've ever owned and absolutely love it. I often ride just Under Armor Cold gear under my snowmobile suit. I may add a fleece if it gets really cold. I'm amazed at how warm, breathable and light weight it is. That's just my experience though.

There is nothing wrong in trying what you already have. Just don't write off the sport if you get cold in non-snowmobile gear.

I have Gore-Tex Pants & jacket, Under Armour Cold gear base layer plus lots of other merino wool & fleece mid layer clothes. Heck no!!!! I won't quit! If I find the stuff I have now isn't good enough, I'll buy a snowmobile specific suit!

What about a roll over valve? I'm reading lots about oil ending up in the air filter even if it tips over, sounds like that might be a worth while investment.

If you roll it over yes. Honestly I have no use for it as I'm a trail rider. If your in mountains and doing a lot of powder riding or racing an jumping then it's a neat deal.

With proper layering you should be fine. I actually get enough heat from motor on legs to help warm me up most days.

I will mostly be boon docking I think it's called? No mountains really here in New Brunswick. Not a lot of trail riding, just mostly out playing around.
So if I don't get a rollover valve & I do roll it, is the sled toast? Or just makes a mess or something?

Won't start for awhile, oil in places you don't want it. It's cheap insurance if there's a chance you could roll it. I honestly don't know y it's not factory part lol. But you will know your chances of rolling your baby an can make that choice I think

I'm not worried about completely rolling it over, just laying it over on its side possibly.
