fixed code 81 but still flashing code how do i reset?

had code 81 come up which is short in hand warmer. got new handwarmer tested with multimeter all seems good but code 81 is still flashing. how do i reset the code on my 07 phazer.

First thing to do is double check your connections to both warmers. If that's good, unplug both heaters and re-measure the resistance in each at the connectors.

There's no reset. You either have a bad heater or the connections are bad. Make sure the connector pins are still straight.

Did you replace only one unit?

i only replaced my left grip heater because it shorted out when removed it to change my handlebars. the new one measures about 1.9 ohms and my old right hand one also measures 1.9 ohms. is it possible it is damaged as well? the connections seem good

It certainly is easy to damage the heaters elements when removing them from the bars.

Below are the '08 specs. You may want to root around to confirm these are the same as the '07.

You might want to check for a blown fuse too.
