Happy new year everyone,
I am having a flex pipe connection issue With the left pipe that I have been tinkering with to no avail.

I pulled the pipe and to me it looks to be in good shape, as is the clamp. I pulled the donut and it has a slight warp to it, however it does not seem warped enough to cause such a gap. Any advice on where to go from here would be a great help. Thanks,
-Al

Is that the actual position of the pipe after you removed the clamp, or did it collapse to that spot after you removed the clamp? You may have to loosen the bolts on the pipes (downward from the flex pipes), and push that pipe towards motor, to seat it.
It's been a few yrs since I've had my full exhaust off my machine, but I do remember having to muscle everything back in line. Of course it was a Hindle system, however.
Why did u take it all apart initially? Was there an exhaust leak from that spot?

The pipe stays in about that position when fastening the clamp. I took it apart to check the heat shielding i had installed last year since it had all burnt up, not good when right under a gas tank.
I loosened the downward bolt to give the whole system some play; I can try jamming the whole pipe forward tomorrow

Do all your exhaust components and end pieces look like mine, in these pics?

I would eliminate the whole flex pipe and donuts. I replaced mine with braided flex pipes.

Im an unable to open the link MP5; says the link was removed or broken.
Those braided pipes looks like a good alternative to the pipes and donuts Yam429, have you had any reliability issues during the time they have been on your machine?

I just put them on last year while repairing a broken exhaust system so we’ll see how they hold up. After hearing about cracked flex pipes and burnt out donuts I figured this would be a better alternative.

I have tried repeatedly to muscle the exhaust into place to no avail. Should I try new copper exhaust donuts next?

You might try loosening the bolts that hold the flex pipe to the head. That should allow you to get it on the pipe, then re-tighten the bolts.

I loosened the head bolts completely and clamped the pipe loosely into place. It took a little muscle to line the pipe up with the head but it seems to be on securely now, thanks for the tip. What gets me is that the other two pipes don't need to be clamped in place before tightening the head bolts, but if it works it works I suppose!
