For those looking for extra stability...

Even if the skis did wear a little on the outside it wouldn't take much to rotate the ski's every so often. I also puled up rear strap 1 hole to get the rear arm closer to the coupling blocks to help tame the ski lifting when powering out of the corners. I'm sure after breaking in the suspension the limiters stretch a bit.

anyone find any ill effects of putting the spacers to one side yet? just wondering how this is working out for everyone??

I don't really think there is a down side to doing this. I rode once since I switched the ski rubbers around and moved the skis to the outside. It seems pretty good! I "cautiously" tried to tip my sled over and get it on one ski as much as possible and it was more difficult to do so. It felt like it either wanted to slide out the rear end or it wouldn't ride on one ski for long. It seemed to want to be on both skis!! ;)!

I think you are playing with fire on this one. Look how much farther that ski is hanging out the side, your just giving it more leverage to snap the head of the bolt off and send you tumbling into a tree. Better handling or not this is not the way to fix it. You would be far better off going to a machine shop and making a new bushing to step the ski out further, but that much there is no support left on the inside your relying on the plastic ski saddle not to break.

Guys, all I can tell you is this : I was told by my dealer that Yamaha made this an option as of last year on the new Phazer snowmobiles, and it's available on the FX Nytro this year as well. I didn't strike an idea here, this is tech that Yamaha made available to allow different riding capabilities for different riders' needs, and as far as I can remember, it was described online as an available adjustment on the Phazer. I adjusted the ski width on our Phazer FX immediately last year, and it's been working fine the way I have ridden it.

My dealer told me this was an option on delivery. I could widen it out if I found it too "tippy" or narrow it if I was more into boondocking in powder.

I too feel that this is an option....wouldn't they just flare out the base of the spindle so no spacers were needed?

ive just never seen it before, so im kinda cautious on it thats all.
