Any of you guys ever foul a plug on a RX1. We got a little snow here and I went to take the RX1 around the house and it really ran like #*$&@....not sure why other then a fouled plug...it ran good when I put it awey for the Summer.

Too much idling around, tipping the sled on it's side for an extended time, carb settings off (had a few of those right from the factory that were off).

Mr. Sled, some might call me nuts, but I firmly believe things kept running have fewer problems. I do not store anything. Every two weeks, I fully warm up the RX's with the drive belts off. Just like a bike in neutral. I don't go much over 7 grand...plus they sound way cool without the track turning. Did this all year, and rolled them down to the drag strip back in August, and they flew, on old gas (with stabil)...it also keeps the battery charged. About 10 to 15 minutes every two weeks does it. I've been doing this to every sled since a stored 73 skiroule 447 rusted a crank bearing over the summer...no more storage for me. Had many friends have issues at fall startup with many brands, after fogging, stabil, the works. Just my .02.

Mrsled- You might want to check if your carbs are dirty, I didn't start mine for a month and when I went to load it on the trailer it was all crappy! With stabil I might add

Thanks guy , I figure I will pop some new plugs in and then head to the carbs if its still running like crap.

If I don't drain my wife's carbs on the SXR700 the low speed jets plug. You may want to check that. With a 4 cyclinder your low speed jet is pretty small.

Ya, I fouled a whole set last year. Now I don't start it without letting it warm up completely afterward.

....also check the T.O.R.S. .... your throttle cable may be out slightly... :?:

Hey Tom, did you put any stabil in there? I don't know why, but I've had no luck getting that stuff to be friendly! I even read the directions, hehe, but it's always caused problems for me in the fall. I don't know if it just falls out of suspension in the bowls or what, but I only get what you could call varnish when I've used Stabil.

I try to do what Sumpbuster does, fire things up now and then and let them heat up, so far so good!

What's a lottle snow Tom???

Is that like a lot of little snow?

Anyway, like everyone else says, once you start that beast you have to keep it running until it completely warms up or the plugs will foul. I run mine a minimum of 10 to 15 mins after starting.

104 OCTANE BOOST WORKS BETTER THAN ANYTHING!

Over the years I add 104 to the tank then run the sled a couple times to get it in the carbs & NO PROBLEMS!!!

Next fall sled runs like a new sled & carbs are clean!!!

My guess would be old fuel or dirty carbs. My 600r did that 2 years ago when I started it in the fall. Although I put stabil in the fuel and let it run before I put it away in the spring, the fuel was bad. I drained the tank and filled with fresh fuel and it ran fine.

Not bad when you consider how it USED to be

It wasn't uncommon to change plugs three times per season. Plus carry two sets of spares. Still running the first replacement set... from last year.
