If you are unfamiliar with the components of a shock, there is a little floating piston that is not attached to the shaft. The purpose of this piston is to seal the shock oil from the gas. When your rebuilding the shocks, it is important to set the depth of this piston just right. Have it set too deep, the piston will hit the bottom and the shaft will not be able to compress fully. Have it set too high, then the shaft end will hit the piston as it compresses.

Would anyone know how deep this piston has to be set at? I can find other makes specifications on the net, but can't find anything for SOQI shocks.

Thanks.

Hey thanks Power, I'll try that.

Tom, the Shocks are rebuildable (Maxxperf.com) provides such a service.

I'll let you know what I end up with.

Thanks again,

Eskimo

Allthough I made a concerted effort to find the specs, I could not find the specifications. I'll look through again one more time.

Eskimo, you have to go to the Totallyamaha.com home page.
Click on "Tech Page" listed on the left hand side of the page.
Then click on the picture of the snowmobile.
Next click on "Chassis/Rear Suspension"
Finally click on "Shock rebuilding specs"
You will see they list specs for the RX-1/Warrior.
Hope this helps, Roadrunner

Hey Road runner,

I am banging myself on the head. I looked all over the RX-1 Tech Section and not the TY forum. Thanks a million.
