LE already has good shocks.
You must mean SE to LE....
For me Im thinking Qs3 in fronts and Qs3R rear as I like to speed up rebound for transfer, and leave center shock alone.
Dan
Agree with most of that. But in no way would I not swap out the center shock. IMO it’s too stiff . At the very least a spring change is in order.
But if you’re putting that much money in there. Contact a reputable shock builder. Get yourself setup for you. Your weight and your riding still.
I intend to fix up my skid suspension next year by doing exactly that. I’ll also have QS3R float 3s in front. (They wont be valved for me, but I should be able to get em to my liking, not really fussy in the front)

If it works good for you, it might be good. But most shock builders will recommend you do both. They tune them to work in unison.I do have a triple rate customized spring on center shock on my sled. I was thinking that I’ve just re use it with new shock
My personal preference is to have a week front shock. And I will ask for such.

What is DSC valve ?Im thinking of going sidewinder this year and selling my 16 viper Le with qs3's. I put DSC valves in my qs3's and would not hesitate to do it again. Hi/ lo ajustment is awesome. Best of both worlds ,once set its done with. My buddy with 18 50th sidewinder thinks it's better than his for ride now. Just some input.

I would assume so as they are based on FLOAT 3 Evols...IQS are based on Fox Zero 1.5.
However someone that like to just ride and not fine tune their shocks may not be the best.
The floats are air shocks. You need to adjust main chamber presure, Evol chamber pressure, Compression rate and rebound rates. The only simple adjustment is Compression with a simple 3 locations switch.
If I'm not mistaken, compression and main spring preload is the only change the user will be able to do on the IQS. That being said I tried it on a buddies sled (not driving) love the on-the-flyness

QS3's are pretty hard on setting 3. I mostly run setting 2, and even 1 if trails are really smooth.

Backwards.....Are the QS3R'S as good as the IQS shocks?
The Qs3R are WAY WAY WAY better then any IQS shock which are just Qs3.
1/2" shaft vs 5/8" massive shafts being biggest diff, larger body, and rebound, kashima....many things. Not too mention you get all FOUR good shocks, not just 3 with IQS system..
Yam charges 1 grand more for much cheaper shocks. 17 and 18 LE models were the king of shocks, and YAM wonders why sales are not great. Hard for any LE owners from 17/18 to want to step DOWN in shock package and pay alot more now.

Are the QS3R'S as good as the IQS shocks?
And I answered....no the IQS system is not as good as Qs3r.

You wont...they are $200 more then a qs3 shock on average wherever I price them out...But they are such a higher end shock that is why they cost so much more.Wish I could find a deal on QS3r's
This is why YAM doesn't offer them anymore is my guess, just too costly.
For guys who never had qs3r, the new IQS system will feel fantastic, and it's surely a great system...but those of us who have the top dog Qs3r from 17/18 really have the best, and would have to step down going to a new model.
Dan
The biggest thing I found in riding on and with the sleds with the two shock packages(QS3R/QS3)is the R's had a much broader range. They did not need to be clicked from 1-2-3 all the time to be very comfortable. I will say it again though. True Fox QS3R shocks are even better than the Factory QS3R shocks. Custom valved and better components. Check out these parts on a true Fox shock. Actual Schrader Valve Nitrogen fill,Anodized IFP,Kashima coated inside and out. Not shown are shotpeened light wieght springs for front and Heims instead of cheap bushings. Sometimes they are less $ than factory.

From what I can tell, I can get some Elka Stage 5's for same or less than QS3r's, not as easy to adjust though. I'm at 5300km on my SE shocks, I would typically rebuild at this point but not worth it on these so looking for new shocks.
