A fella by the name of "Kachess" has done wonders on RX-1s and has described a great way to get a "free" 2 wheel kit on your sled. The Phazer has a very similar, if not the same, rear axle as the RX-1. I did this same conversion but he explains it better than I could, so I hope he doesn't mind.
"I've noticed guys are buying two wheel kits for their tons, We've converted 8 out of 12 tons to two wheel kits, for free, over the last few weeks. We use all the stock rear axle parts, and the whole process doesn't take over an hour. Less time if your suspension is already out. They work great, may help sidehilling, and look so cool.
To shorten the stock axle we just cut off the bolt head side of the existing axle so it's grip length is just 1/16 in under the dimension to the outside of the rails. We drill and tap the cut off end with a 1/2 -13 thread (beacause that is what size tap I have lying around. You could tap it to for the metric bolt that is held in by a press pin on the cut off end of the stock axle if you have the tap). Thread the bolt in to the end with a washer under it; drill, and pin the bolt in place similar to the original axle (you can use the original press pin if you can get it out).
Cut off one of the ouside axle spacer bushings to the length of the shortest inside spacer bushing. Assemble the kit less the inside spacer bushing, measure for the correct inside spacer bushing length, and cut the stock long, bushing, to that dimension. Assemble all the parts and ride." Kachess
I've attached a pic of my Phazer conversion. Works great.

quadsrib its to help with side hiiling cuz from factory i think there is 2 wheels on the right side 1 one the out side and one in between the rails making it harder to lean on that side to side and and when there is both wheels on the inside of the rails it makes it so much easier

The main reason that I did it on the Phazer was the fact the track is only 14" wide which put the outside edge of the wheels to the very edge of the track. I have bounced off some pretty good stumps, logs, and rocks while boondocking and see a problem with the tight clearance from the edge of wheel to the edge of track. Plus, I cut the track my self from a 16" wide down to 14". I might have varied a bit from 14" to 13.75" with the method that I used. This particular conversion was a win/win for me.

Well on that note I can surely say that my rear axle bolt head has marks where things have contacted it so I can see that logic....again Im a little newer to sleds so I like to know the tricks and so on.
I do think it looks cool but I just added a 4th wheel for extra security though I think really that kit is a gimmick to be hones I just bought it off EBAY for $40.00 and HAD to but something fer the Phazer lol.

I just made one from my spare skid.
A wheel is one $19, duplicate the inside spacer by cuting from the middle shaft, then cut shaft aging taking 4.70-4.75 off. Easy and cheap 4th wheel.

Not to sound like a weener but whats the point? It does look cool but why?

its not something you would want to do on a sled your going to trail ride mostly. makes it "roll" alot more. just like with the firecats there 13.5in wide (i think) the first 2 or so years they made them they didnt use outside wheels and then they started adding them and it makes a noticiable difference in cornering. also with no wheels on the outside of the track if trail riding the edjes of the track will start to break

god #$%&* i allways click on the mountain talk instead of the general talk. i thought i was in the general oops
