Any one make make a desion on a updated front end yet ( 16 version, Barcode, Alt Impact, ect. ) I like the new factory spindles but would also like the forward ski position. Fred

If the Barcode kit for the Viper is anything close to what they did with the Nytro, that be my choice! Check out the vids they have posted. Pretty impressive stuff. Plus no shock mods.

I'm going with the 36 inch Arctic Cat/Yamaha kit. I'm not a huge fan of extending the skis out, I can see it being counter productive in handling in tight spots. I could be wrong. I like the angle of the spindle, it kind of looks like they angled it the same as the aftermarket companies have done with the forward spindle kits, but they kept the spindle in the "stock" location.

On that note, if anyone has any shocks from the 38 inch kit they want to sell I'd be happy to take them off your hands!

The 36 inch Viper kit is the same as the 38 with skis that have extra adjustment. If you have the 38 inch Cat/Yamaha front end and buy 2016 skis you have 36 inch front end with spacers set. By the same fact if you put after market skis on the 2016 Mountain Viper you no longer have the ability to set for 36 inches.

I'm pretty sure the new kit is adjustable from 34 inches up to 38, making 36 the middle adjustment. If you buy the new ski you'd have 36-40 inches adjustment on a 15. The new caster angle is huge step in the right direction as well. I'm not sure why arctic cat would offer a "36" inch upgrade kit if what you are saying is true. The kit should just be a new set of skis lol

Not what I saw on the 2016 at our dealer but you might be right production can vary from demo models.

I'm just going by what is listed on Yamaha and Arctic Cat's website.

Just ordered the Barcode. I'll let you know, I have the pro-motion on my skid so I was a bit worried that the Barcode would make the sled to tippy, but I was sitting here drinking lots of beer and impulse bought the damn thing. Fingers crossed.

I had the 38" AC/Yam front end last couple years. I switched to the new front end that is 36". It is definitely narrower. The shocks are also shorter.

Anyone wants a complete 38" front end with Evol shocks with rebound let me know.

Is it worth the upgrade? It'll cost me about 600 bucks.

I really do not know yet. Will not get to try it for another couple weeks when I get out to revvy. I had no issues with 38". Once I got to front a rear skid tuned right for off trail riding the sled was a dream to handle in th trees and technical stuff. Starting all over with the new front end now. No doubt I is easier to pull over. Sled is super tippy now on little ride I did on the 5" of snow we have. It is very light steering as well. I do notice that my sled sits more down hill now as back of track I not sitting flush on ground.

We have a 15mtx with the 16 spindles and zbroz uppers and lowers my 20 year old through that thing around lake a Phazer on our trip to Grand Meas

i have done the upgrade...i went with the full 2016 front end....worth every penny imo
