So I am in the middle of swapping out my track and was inspecting the tunnel, noticed a slight gap between the top of the front heat exchanger and where it rivets to the tunnel. I had a couple louvers bent and straightened them up, but I noticed those upper heat exchanger rivets are loose. It looks like it’s probably going to be a pain to replace those rivets, would it be a bad idea to rivet from the inner tunnel up? Or what about using small nut and bolts? I didn’t really want to get into removing the tank and headed etc. From the looks it’s probably been like this a while.

I had the same issue and I used 1/4 inch nuts/bolts and fender washers. The exhaust manifold needed to be removed in my case.

Had the same issue. Went at my tunnel from the top - but its a lot of work. I ended up drilling one or two more holes into the exchanger to add rivets.
Its pretty lightly built, thats for sure.
