front pivot arm

Does anyone make a stronger front pivot arm for the monoshock? I've broken 2 now in 3800 miles and wonder if anything else is out there.

I also have to replace one drive axle bearing, lost 2/3 of my track clips and blew off 2 rear wheels, transfer rod also came loose and bent. All within 150mi. I'm going to open up the windows in the track and fully clip it, install extrovert drivers, and repair the other issues.

This sled rocks but i'm a little disappointed the pivot arm breaks so easily.

Unless your under warranty I'd think an aftermarket skid might be the way to go. That's a lot of damage to the rear skid. Do you do yearly maintenance? I'd be a lot more upset than you appear to be. Good luck.

There is no warranty left on the sled. I brought the sled to the dealer this year to do a preseason check up because i just didn't have the time. Thats another story in itself. I've only put on 450mi. this season. I did have the pivot arm and some wheels replaced under warranty after the first season.

I wouldn't mind trying an aftermarket skid but not sure what works well and is durable.

I'm an aggressive rider and spent a lot of money to have hygear upgrade the rear shock, although I suppose that stuff could be sold. I am kind of angry but the wheels are normal wear and tear, the transfer rod bad luck and the pivot arm seems to be a weak link as it was in my viper and srx, also broke the one in my mxz when i had one of those yellow things. I don't get to post often and don't want to be a troll who only posts with the negative like some of the other sites. This sled is truly awesome and relatively problem free. The few kinks it does have seem to be getting worked out here as a collaborative effort and thats what makes a great site.

Does anyone have any suggestions on an aftermarket skid?

I believe the 08 monoshock sleds have a stronger front pivot arm, before you ditch the monoshock you could update to the 08 front arm. Or weld up your old arm with additional support. There are a few posts on this forum with guys that have welded supports on the arm in problem areas. I have about 500 tug hill miles on my strengthened arm this year with the Hygear Shock upgrade and its holding up good. If you like the ride with the Hygear Dual rate kit maybe give it another try with a stronger front arm.

the factory weld on the suspesion arms suck.I read about the arms breaking on this site,so i decided to do something before. I took a new arm WIRE WHEELED the paint off of the welds,and rewelded all the factory welds very carefully(using as little heat as possible). The original weld are UNDERCUT from the factory,and thats where the cracks start. I have 7000mi on my original arm,and still holding.
Are your rail caps tight? When mine where loose it was knocking off the clips. I drilled and taped a bolt into the bottom of the cap(just the same way the slides are held),and haven't lost a clip since.
I went with a fully clipped,and wished I would have stayed with the original,It worked better.
