hey guys, I was looking at upgrading my front shocks on an 03 rx-1, I have been looking long and hard at the fox floats, I'm a boon docker with a little trail riding. the question I had was, i know that the stock front shock measures 17 1/2 inches from center to center, what kind of issues would i run into if I put a 17" center to center shock on? the reason i ask, is that i found a set that i could get rather cheap, so would i have binding under compression or would a half inch less just be a half in less travel? Thanks for all your help guys!

Half inch less travel. Remember though that a half inch on the shock will work out to more than a half inch on the overall suspension height.

Make sure that your COMPRESSED LENGTH matches. If the compressed length is too short, the suspension will compress too much.

i dont have an answer to your question but i highly recommend getting the floats i put them on my warrior and they made a huge difference

plus they look awsome

thanks alot for your input guys, I don't know if i should just order a new set that are right for the sled or take the risk! I guess i'll have to think about it for a bit! thanks again

i had the same questions last year. I bought float 2's from tom's snowmobile, in california, he is a poo guy, but he valvled my shocks for my style of riding at no extra cost because i bought the shocks from him. The floats he sent me were for a an Fseries cat, but the revalving compensated for the extra engine weight. I got them set and never adjusted them after that
