I heard a rumor that there is probably going to be a showdown of a Front Mount VS Rear Mount Turbo Sleds at the SnowGoer-SnowWeek / Dyno Tech Research shootout tomorrow in Woodgate NY.
Also a few Supercharged Sleds, too.
Which is better?
Maybe this will quiet the naysayers...

I don,t think one is better than the other, its all in the set up, FREAK as been beating all the front mounts at fairview with his rear mount, set up and nitrous voids the throttle response issue,

I've witnessed a rear mount make several pounds of boost staging at the starting line, just below belt engagement RPM.

I would agree, setup has everything to do with it. Also knowledge and testing are key as well. There is a ton of info out there but not much directly related to sleds and the type of clutch we run. As far as front vs rear, I think it will come down to knowledge over location.

Re: Front VS Rear mount Turbo Sled showdown at ShootOut Dec
I was going to go with my sled and they don't allow anything on race gas, or chisel studs, it must be trail freindly, no 2 steps, open pipes etc.
In a trail set up Hands down front mount.

Ted I will have to disagree with you after having a few of botrh I feel a well dialed MCX kit is as good as any. MCX does pull harder on the top end I know for sure The results will speak for themselves

It is fun to dream eh!
They are running only 1000 ft. and the hole shot is everything.
It might just come down to who is the better clutch man.
I am talking If I had both sled and maxed them out myself there is no comparison.

We arnt sure why guess it could be the velocity the air travels extra charge cooler under the tunnel better flowing intercooler and location of air filter . proven fact that air filter behind the windsheild slows em down on a Powderlite/ alpine kit

I am not saying that the MCX are not good..I just don't see why they would be faster and have more top end than a front mount thats all I am saying...Need for Speed 2 said:noy trying to sell you on it just what we have seen here in the east at sea level time and time again the mcx kits are as good as or better as anyone elses we have seen so far. just my opinion
