Frozen fuel pump relay?

Sunday morning the temp was -16F and my 07 Phazer would turn over fine but not start. I finally realized that i wasn't hearing the fuel pump prime when I turned the key to the first position. I pulled the side cover off and warmed up the relays in front of the battery with my bare hands for a few minutes and the fuel pump kicked on and sled started right up. Is there a better replacement relay? Also, which relay is it? If I have to pull it out I would like to know which one it is so I don't remove the wrong one.

Not sure if there is one that is updated but just buying a new relay should work for a while.

The new relay is supposed to be better.Best way to find it is to feel which one clicks when key is turned on.They are located behind the ECU.Not by battery.

Thanks for the info, guys but I'm not sure where the ECU is. Anyone have a pic? Or tell me where it is and where the relays are in relation to the ECU. Thanks again.

Right side down low near footwell.ECU is held on by rubber strap and relays are right behind ECU.You will need to remove the lower plastic to easily get at it.

Go to local auto parts stores and look up part number 203-0133 from Beck/Arnley. Same size and plug configuration with internal diode. It's used for everything from horn relays to fuel pumps on a variety of vehicles. Just plug that number into Google for a list of vehicles. Dirt cheap too.

Only thing though is that it's a little bigger than the Yamaha part and won't fit in the rubber holder so a zip tie will need to be used. I also put some clear nail polish to seal it up on the sides and bottom (plug end) to keep moisture out which is the problem with the original.

If I remember correctly, the fuel pump relay is on the top row (for sure) and second from the front or back.

Bought a new one 3 years ago,dealer had told me it was a different updated relay,never had an issue since
