I know, I know this topic has been beat to death right? I've been reading topics for several days and I just need some help clearing things up.
A Power commander requires a program to be loaded into it and changes to the program require a laptop correct? Changes can't be made trail side? ....and it won't work with my Mac right?
....and the rapid bike is pretty much the same deal but can adjust the timing curve as well?
The Hauck on the other hand is adjusted with the unit itself and fuel can be added or taken away even trail side? But the Hauck is not as precise as the others with it program, correct?
I'm looking to add K&Ns and a fuel controller to my Nytro. I have a Hauck Husher on it now but plan to go to a full exhaust next year. So I want something that is going to work now, then be adjusted to work with a full system. (and I'm worried about finding programs for a stock pipe with husher, then a full system. (unknown what kind))
Thanks for any help with this.

I have lots of good working specs for the hauck controller on a nytro. I have done a few sleds in my area in various states of tune. Haucks calibration is very good if you tell him your mods before you buy one or I can help you dial in the fuelling..

Good topic,im adding a Full Exhaust and already have the K&N Filters..I read on here before that the Nytro doesn't benifit from bumping timing like the Apex engine does? Im kinda leaning towards the Power comander myself.

Thanks Turk, I might have to take you up on that.

IMHO the hauck unit isnt the way to go...
get a power commander with map for your exact state of tune plus the ability to expand further...
ULMER RACING from my experience you will be happier with this path....

Thanks for the feedback SJ.
The other option I was exploring was to get K&Ns and a PC from Allen however I have a Hauck silencer on the sled now. I assume that Allen doesn't have a map for that, but maybe the silencer will not have an impact on fuel needed and his map will work fine.
From what I've been reading there is a range from one Nytro to another. So does one map work on all of them? Is fine tuning ever required? If I need to adjust something how to I adjust it? (I have a MacBook) Will a PC work well in the mountains without me having to adjust it?
Maybe someone can correct this but I believe the PC has 10 throttle points of adjustment and the Hauck has 3 or 4??? Is that right?
Thanks again guys for helping me with this.
(Sorry if there are type-os I've had a couple of whiskeys)

the pc3 has a tone of adjustability...but you can just run the map he supplies you with...and the hauck silencer can easily be accounted for...for what its worth...that was my setup with a header...and ignition module..
trust me Ulmer has you covered

Did you find the ignition module worked better then just the PC SJ? i was told that it wasn't a major benifit to the Nytro engine?sj said:the pc3 has a tone of adjustability...but you can just run the map he supplies you with...and the hauck silencer can easily be accounted for...for what its worth...that was my setup with a header...and ignition module..

I've had a couple of emails back and forth with one of the guys at Hauck. I have to say they've been good about clearing up any questions I have.
...and I've got Turk just down the road in my hometown with a ton of knowledge on these units.
Hauck also quoted me a pretty good price, so right now I'm leaning towards the Hauck. It might be different if I had a windows lap top but I know the Power Commander won't work with my MacBook.
I'm waiting to here from Ulmer to see what he says.
Anyone know of other kits out there? Does Hurricane Performance have something?

Mike, Hurricane sells the RB3 and it comes mapped.( but for a full system I think )..problem is you have to use a laptop to adjust maps/ create maps etc...and have the Rapid Bike software aswell....someone on the site had a smokin deal on an RB3 with software..$450.... Talk with Dave and the fellas at Powderlites...they really like the RB3 and it's benefits....Powderlites also has a map for a Nytro with a Hindle muffler ( muffler only )..that map should work for any slipon ..just a thought.

Thanks for the feedback Ryan. Yeah the Rapid Bike is a good option. $450 is a good price but it's almost as much as the Hauck with K&Ns. I know it has more capability but I'm not sure it's options that I need. But I do want to consider long term options as well and a Hindle or Excell system will likely be in my future.

Ulmer got back to me. The prices are close even to goto a PCV.
My concern is that the PC will work fine with the K&Ns but my Hauck will make it lean then I'll have to add fuel at some point in the power band and I will have a tough time doing this.
