Fuel filter
If the Apex/Attack sleds are like the RX1, it will have two fuel filters according to the exploded parts view here:
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx
(You need to choose the type of vehicle, year and model, and then choose fuel tank from the left margin subtopics-I wasn't able to copy & paste the direct link here)
I looked at the fuel tank assembly for a 2005 RX1 that shows 2 filters in the tank.

The Fuel filter is attached to a line that is attached to the "Filter assembly". Simply unscrew the assembly from the tank and pull the filter out by hand.
I'm just wondering how often do you change the Fuel filters in your Cars???????????? You guys crack me up

Yamaha has been using the same filter in the tank for years, and I have been riding yamaha's for years, not once have I ever had A fuel filter problem. Not saying it can't happen, but it's never happened to me.It's A quite A bit bigger than most inline filters, maybe that has something to do with it.

LOL.....My fuel filter on my 2000 is in the tank as well. I need a hanger to pull it up. It sounded like the new ones were the same way. no filter anywhere else. If I wouldn't have baught my RTX, I was going to run a in line filter on the line coming out of the tank just above the pump. I used a hanger so I wouldn't have to remove the air box, and all involved just to pull out the filter.
Then again, I never have said I was the smartest man in the world. :?
The filter on my GMC is easy, mounted to the frame. Two wrenched and she's off. I change it once in awhile...lol

Hey guy's... You may want to recheck the info on the filter. Looks like there is an electric fuel pump in the tank on the 06. Take a flash light and look into the rear of the tank, it looks like the pickup is back there. There is a high pressure line coming from back there and going to the left side of the fuel injection body. There seems to be a low pressure return going into where the 05 pickup was. I would be very carefull digging around in there with a coat hanger as you may damage that funny looking pickup in the rear of the tank.
