I have a 07 attakgt, temp light came on after a really crappy crappy trail. Stop sled let it cool pack the running boards with snow. Won't start just cranking only like it wasn't getting fuel. Waited another 10 minutes got it to start. Drove another maybe three miles died out on me. Wouldn't start again. Waited 10 minutes and it fired up. I had about 3/16 of a tank left no low fuel light. As I was waiting I looked in the tank and they were bubbles coming out of the bottom. Filter is submerged in fuel and I can hear the fuel pump kicking on. It would only start after letting it sit for 10 minutes. I got into a road so it can be picked up by truck and trailer. Didn't want to go searching for trails anymore because to top it off we were lost in the woods and the trail ended after a really really bad 3 Mile section I mean real bad.
Any input would be appreciated I'm thinking maybe vaporloc because it got hot something stuck down by the fuel filter pick up.
There was gas in the tank and I can see it I'm a little confused looking for any input

Fuel will boil and cause running issues. If the conditions were bad enough to cause engine to overheat, then under the fuel tank may have been hot enough to cause fuel to boil.
Are all the heat shields in place, including heat tape that is stock on the fuel tank?
I've never seen this happen on a sled, but it was a well known problem on 2002 grizzly 660's and also seen it happen on 2013 Polaris 550 sportsman.
I know it is hard to believe but it does happen.

X2. the fuel boils from the radiant exhaust header heat soaking through the top of the tunnel into the plastic gas tank, more exaggerated when the level is low because there is less fluid volume to dissipate the heat and it just snow-balls with the warm fuel return from the fuel rail. But they all do this...
Likely your actual issue is your in-tank fuel pump is crapping out, one of two failures... if electrically, then when the temperature goes way up (as it sits and soaks all the heat that is boiling your fuel) so does it's internal winding or brush resistance past a threshold point where it can't start itself. As it cools down, the resistance drops and it starts to work again. If mechanically, damaged from running dry too many times it may be worn in the vanes enough that the boiling fuel is cavitating so it won't build pressure on a restart.
I had the electrical gremlin, though it was vapor lock but the clue was it didn't make any noise when it was not starting until it cooled down some. If you don't hear the pump working until after it cools down for 10 min then change your fuel pump in the tank...If you still hear the pump, might still be worn to the point it's not building pressure when boiling hot and still probably still needs to be replaced.
Also interesting point is as the fuel is boiling it is also boiling off the light ends of the fuel, that provide the detonation resistance, into vapor ... basically slowly boiling away your octane rating...
Not so much a critical issue on a stocker, but on my turbo it was a big deal. I spent alot of $ on ceramic heat shield pads to insulate the fuel tank from the header heat.

im not bashing cause im married to my 06 attak that i picked up in august also. lol but these yamhas compared to my skidoo 4 stroke have alot of issues. does it ever end? now fuel boiling? really? sorry had to vent a little. spent 3500 on a machine then another 1000 to update and upgrade and i still prob need a rear heat exchanger. how did they ever sell these off the show room?

i have only done the fuel boil once on the 11 and it was my fault, not the sled. got it so hot i could not touch the frame. usually if driven above 20 mph they do not over heat unless it is bare ice. then i would just load the running boards with ice chunks to keep it cool when crossing the ice on my rx war with no cooling fan.
