Try unplugging the speedo sensor down by the jackshaft bearing . I f the bearing is worn it allows the shaft to contact the sensor and will kill the sled . Found that out the hard way.

We had a warm up and rain that killed all our snow so I haven't messed with the sled much other than taping the ground blocks back up after checking them, but we have been getting dumped on and decided to go for a ride today. So with a new fuel relay in hand we pulled the sled out and she fired right up and kept running for around 5 minutes. Just as he went to put his helmet on she died again, fired it back up and about 10 seconds later it died again. I put the new relay in and we fired the sled back up, again a few seconds later it died. So he fired it up again and attempted to ride it, this was successful. He rode alll around the back yard, down the road, and the back field. Ran for about 10 minutes and didn't miss a beat. He then pulled up to the back yard and shut it off to wait for me to get the rev out and when we went back out it wouldn't start.
I don't hear the relay click or the fuel pump.
I put the original relay in and still nothing.
I didn't get a chance to check this yet.

Could this be the Stator? I read recently hard starting then won't start are some symptoms.

Just out of curiosity, are the stators an issue on these sleds? I have 2 RX1's with all trouble free miles except a broken transfer rod and carbs needing cleaned. I have the chance to buy an 06 GT. Reading this has me worried..

Unfortunately have to bring this back to the top.
Finally got some decent snow and some time to ride, but the sled wont start at all now. No Relay click or fuel pump. Tried with and without the speedo wire plugged in. Wiggled the main harness to try and find a short and nada.
He's thinking about a new 600 or 800 etec, PLEASE HELP! I don't want another Doo in my garage.

Seems to be around 8-10,000 miles they start having issues. Mine went this weekend on an 06 er. It seems the crank sensor goes more often than the stator, but they are sold as a unit. I haven't found a replacement for just the sensor yet. $234 thru partzilla for oem replacement. There is another, RMStator for $129 but you need to splice in the old plug. Still looking for the gasket number for the cover.RxThunder said:Just out of curiosity, are the stators an issue on these sleds? I think you should check the stator. RM Stators are hit or miss. I would buy OEM to avoid the miss.

so no fuel pump buzz or relay click? still cranks?
I would be checking the wire from the starter relay to the fuel pump relay had this wire corrode on my apex several years ago believe it's a brown wire with a green tracer.
check fuse in starter relay and work from there
wiggle ignition switch
wiggle stop switch
turn ignition on and wiggle harness listen for pump

Snow disappeared taking my interest with it so the sled sat in the garage all summer, but the snows on its way back so I figured I should bring this back to the top for a few more suggestions.
I'm going to check what actionjack and blue er mentioned. I'm not sure how to check the stator, but I'm sure there is a thread here somewhere...
