I would like to get better fuel mileage. I realize I have a heavy, high HP sled but range is an issue. Especially if you are running mostly secondary trails at 45 MPH or so. Times when you're not into the throttle too hard or in deep snow where you don't expect much.

I went 106 miles yesterday and the fuel light came on as I was loading up. Figured out to 13.86 MPG. I would sure like to have seen that be in the 15's or better.

I know somewhat higher speeds on well groomed trails is better but that's when you have more gas options too.

I'm running Simmons and Hiperfax with wear pads on the closed windows.

Any other mods that will help the mileage?

Is your sled new? how many miles so far?

I notice my Apex hasn't been getting to good either. It has about 550 miles on the machine now, i did a fuel milege test and i only got 10.8 miles per gallon, or 12.9 miles per gallon CDN. This is not a steady trail speed, sometimes going 15MPH, sometimes going 75MPH..and a little bit of racing.

The best I've ever gotten was 16 and that was babing it!

Running with my kids (60 to 70 km/h) I made over 18 mpg and normal is 14 to 15 mpg CAN. I know guys will laugh but I run injector cleaner every 3rd or 4th tank and it helps. Have for a few years in my R1 race bike. Really woke it up after the second year of storage. Mine sits for 9 months and those injectors aren't very big. Half a bottle per tank and I buy the better stuff.

Along the same lines as Mikecam mentioned, would Ringfree serve the same purpose to potentially get a little better mileage?

About 10 mpg untill I put around 1000 miles on it and now have 3600 miles on it and getting 13-15 mpg depending on conditions.

My sled has about 1300 miles on it. This past weekend in loose snow trail conditions I was getting about 13-14 riding the heck out of it. I am pretty happy with that. Hell I am lucky to get 2 mph out of my boat!

This past weekend I got between 14-15mpg. Combination of
fresh powder riding, trail riding, and a few passes of drag racing.
Compared to my old sled of 10mpg. I think is is great.
It's nice to see 70 miles on the odo and still see 1/2 tank of fuel left.
