Has anyone put fuel shutoffs on their Rage. I have an '05. What size is the fuel line, where did you mount them, and where did you get them from. Pictures would be cool too.

Yamaha1,
I installed two of these in my RS Venture this year.
We have essentially the same engine setup so I would guess it would be the same for you.
Before you order, get the hose ID so you get the right size barb on the shutoff.
The pictured one is from the Dennis Kirk catalogue and are around $14 each.
1-Gently stuff some clean rags under the bulkhead (firewall if it was a car).
2-Find the fuel hoses between the pumps and the tank that run across the bulkhead in front of a seated driver. You should have small black plastic supports holding up the hoses.
3-About 1" away from these supports, cut a section of hose out of the fuel line that is the width of the shutoff main body. (Gas will now drip into your rags)
4-Install the shutoff into the line and use small zip ties as hose clamps. The zip ties should be fine if tight as the hose is very soft.
5-The plastic supports will also now support the shutoff so it does not bounce around.
6-Repeat for second hose.
COMMON MISTAKES:
1-Be sure you do not install both shutoffs into the same line. Funny but could be done.
2-Do Not Rush. This should take you less than 45 mins to do it right. A lot longer if you need to do it over or replace fuel lines.
2-OPTIONAL-You may want to install the shutoffs so that the shutoff "arm" is "at rest" (down) while shutoff is open. I figured that I would not want the valve to close while I was riding or in the middle of a big hill climb.
Hope this helps.
Best of Luck

Thanks guys.......I knew what to do, but just wanted to see some pictures to see how others have done it. Get some ideas.

The lines are 5/16". Don't buy the ones from Shade Tree. They are 1/4", and I was bummed when I got them since I didn't check before buying.
Ended up going to a local lawnmower shop to get the 5/16" variety

On page 41 of the 06 Yamaha snowmobile accessories and apparel catalog they have universal shut off valves. They look like a high quality ball valve. It says for use with 1/4" I.D fuel line, fits most models. They are 13.95. The in and out are at 90 degrees so you would have to move the bracket back to the bend, as compared to the pics above. If you do a search in the RX1 section there are more pics of other installs. When I installed them on my RX1 I made a bracket like in the pics above. Very clean install. The only other thing is make sure that in the mounted position and the fuel is on the lever runs parrallel to the fuel line or llike in the pic points toward the carbs. This just makes it easier to know at a glance that the fuel is on or off, also this is standard so if the dealer is working on it they know the fuel is on.

Bracket not needed
As gorgeous as that custom bracket is, you don't really need it.
Just use the inline shutoffs (2), cut out an inch of the hose
at a place where the shutoff's don't touch anything or each other
and use some decent hose clamps. Offset the two shutoffs from
each other a few inches. It's a 5 minute job.
Oh, and don't smoke when you are doing this.
