do you have to put the fuel shut-offs on the rs vector's because im going to be doing alot of trailering to canada with my sled and i dont want no problem's when im over 400 miles from home. thanks :4STroke: :yam:

This has been a topic of debate for a while now.

Some would say never trailer without them, others say they have trailered for 1,000's of miles with no problems.

The danger is fuel flowing into the cylinders from the trailer vibrations. All that fuel in the cylinder or the crank case can cause mechanical damage when you try to start the sled.

The Yamaha owner's guide says something like don't trailer with the fuel level higher than the carbs.....basically a disclaimer.

Personally I don't have them and I trailer everywhere I sled.

Do a search on the RX-1 forum and you will find lots of discussion threads on this topic.

Ultimately, the decision in yours.

Got the new Shade Tree catalog today, they sell the shut-offs in either in-line or @ a 90. (page 80)
Part number - 07-7118 for in-line
07-71181 for 90

$10.99 each
orders- (888) 742-3387 or for info (800) 927-8589

Put em on!

also nice if some peckerhead tried to steal your sled, jump on and go 50 feet. I know this, first hand knowledge.
