What octane rating is everyone running in their Nytro's? I've always been running premium with no ethanol, but some people are telling me that i may be losing a slight amount of performance cause the Nytro is designed to run on 87 octane. I'm guessing that the engine must have an ethanol tolerance of about 10%, since you can't hardly find gas without ethanol in it.

You are correct. You should be running 87 octane, as it was designed for it. Although the amount of performance you are losing by running premium is so small you will never notice it. But you are not gaining anything, except you are avoiding Ethanol, which will eventually eat away your fuel lines and stuff.
Its not a bad idea to avoid the ethanol. But you could just run 87 all winter, then your last couple tanks of gas switch to premium, so it doesn't sit all summer with ethanol in it.

Is this the same for Canada sleds? May be a stupid question but I was always told to run supreme in my Nytro.

For now some or most premium is ethanol free in Canada. When that will change I do not know.
If there is premium I run it to avoid ethanol. However if there is only 87 at a stop, I don't worry about it.
Ethanol is more of a problem for carb'd sleds and 2-strokes but it's still nasty stuff and I avoid it when I can.

87 but it pisses me off because most places in NY that have gas for sleds ONLY have super (93).

Running 87 here and am very happy doing so. When I had my sled tuned for my mods I wanted to do it on 87 as 91 is getting harder to find in some spots...my sled runs like a champ!

I also run 87, the compression ratio isnt designed for anything higher i don't believe, also with mods like exhaust ,intake and fuel programmers there shouldn't be a need for higher octane either. Just my thoughts.

Well cheaper sounds good to me. Especially with the prices here in NL.

I think I will keep getting premium to avoid the ethanol whenever possible, and not worry when I can only get 87 with 10% ethanol. I do add Sta-Bil's ethanol treatment whenever I can, regardless if I have ethanol fuel or not in the sled. I would like to think it helps with corrosion, and if nothing else, makes me feel better!!!

After cleaning up many small engines- snowblowers, lawnmowers etc I will never touch Stabil again because of the crud it leaves behind and when mixed with ethanol even worse. Once you use SeaFoam you wont want anything else. Just my opinion.
