Fuel warning on 04 warrior

Hi...anyone know what the problem might be on an 04 Warrior??? The fuel warning starts flashing when the tank gets down just under 3/4 tank.

I removed the sending unit and cleaned contacts but still doing it???

If tank FULL warning stops?? Please help

Mine comes on when there is one bar left on the fuel guage, still has about a 2 gallons left in the tank. Just reset your odometer at each fill-up so you know roughly how far you can go on each tank as a safety measure as well.

Thanks...., just got this thing so not real sure on quirks of use....your saying that if I don't reset the odemeter the warning will contiinue???

Hope your right...that would be a real easy fix.

No the odometer has nothing to do with the warning light, sorry i not sure of a fix for that problem.

You most-likely have something wrong with the sending unit. You probably will have to pull it from the tank, which is easy. Then you can put an ohm meter across its leads and test it.

If the the rod is not bent, then you may need a new unit. Someone would have to have had it out to bend it. So if you are the only owner and you never had it out, well then you may be in for a replacement.

One thought though, if this is inconsistently happening, then maybe the connector at the sensor or the back of the display gage is corroded or one of the wires is chaffed.

No, resetting the odometer will not cause the warning light to go out. It just helps you after each fill-up to have an idea of how far you can go on a full tank.
