Full build 998 SRX on pump gas plus Boostane

Guy walks in looking for 280hp and walks away with 350+...nice work guys. Hahaha
Yeah I figured bigger turbo would be key the stock is getting out of its sweet spot about 285-300 then comes heat & knock and there goes the head gasket lol

Oh No!!!! I wish I had not seen thi$:(
Love my Boost tuned so so much fun and a rocket just want to get a sweet SRX with EPS and bigger power to just keep as they are no more. :( The 998 in my eyes will go down as the sweetest boosted 4 stroke in a sled. Yamaha has always made the most reliable stuff hands down! Plus just gotta have a Blue SRX in my line up again!

Respect the power and it will pay you back big dividends.
You know!
Genuinely excited for you as the '23 SRX's are my favorite. Need that power steering...lol
Maybe someday?!?! congratulations!

Just FYI on mufflers with PEFI stage 4. I run a TD Turboforce muffler which is 2.5 diameter and have PEFI'S quiet trail as well. The afr numbers are identical between the two. The Turboforce besides being lighter provides better throttle response and I like how it sounds. I tried a TD 3 inch super quiet and would see the det light come on at full throttle as well as afr climbing above 14s when rpm was above 7000. One ride and off it came and sold. I do not use an adjustable fpr and was not about to get into that. Footnote...I run strictly trail and don't do much long distance wot. 1/4 mile max. Love the setup!

Well, if deto light was going off, and AFR was climbing, it was making more power. Higher air flow = more power. So when you took the 3" muffler off, you sacrificed HP.
Very easy to install stand-alone AFR gage and install AFPR. TD has a nice one. Simple to adjust. Put on 3" muffler, adjust FPR to whatever FP is needed to run safe AFR at wfo.
For example, my Stage 4 tune is advertised to need 58 static FP. Due to modifications I've made, 58 would be too lean (AFR in 12's or higher). No problem. Just turn up FP. So, after some testing, my Stage 4 tune needs 63 psi to run safe AFR (not 58).
It runs great and it's safe on 92 octane pump gas at ~330HP.

As I mentioned, I was not interested in adding another thing into the setup. Whatever hp difference there might be is likely minimal and would never be noticed for trail ripping.
Also, the Turboforce 2.5 is lighter, much less expensive, sounds great for me, fits perfect (the 3" td super quiet was not a good fit for the heat shield and it melted plastic), and the entire driveline can be easily serviced without removing it.

That 3" Super Quiet obviously flows more then... based on the results you had while running it.

Well finally got a 23 home with lots of mods!
