Curious about gearin for my 2007FX...
Does it have the 18 tooth gear?
Would going to a 17 tooth and re-clutching merit a noticeable acceleration increase?
Opinions? The Phaz is not "fast" anyway, I am just interested in a very quick 0-70mph, cause generally thats all there is room for where I ride anyway...

did you mess with the spring in the secondary yet?
not sure the benefit from a 18 to 17 is gonna get you. i'm sure someone has.

In theory a 17 tooth will give you 5.8% more torque to the track and cut 5.6% of your top speed ability. If you couldn't fully shift out the clutches at WOT with an 18 tooth then dropping to a 17 tooth probably won't hurt you at all. I know I definitely noticed a loss of acceleration when I went to a 19 tooth on my MTX but the 17 tooth didn't cut it for fast trails as it ran out of clutch at 68mph GPS! remember the MTX has 8 tooth drivers which makes the gears act like ~2 teeth less than a short track sled so a 17 in mine is like a 15 on a short track, also the 19 in mine acts like a 17 would on a short track. Compare my stock "15" to a GT's 20 tooth and I had 33% more torque to the track!
