Re: Pricing
I believe that is an additonal 2 years warranty unless I am reading it wrong. Thats what my dealer said also.
I got a price just calling him and I got $11,100 and I know he will do better when I go down there next week. I expect to pay about 10,800 and get some accessories.
And for $1200 or in my case maybe $900 I would never go south to buy one, it has to be 2 grand difference to make it worth while.
Sierraspirit said:Reaper, that isn't too bad. Still a difference of $1200 on your pricing. I believe MN and ND US dealers will be little better. Like you said, for $150 you get 4 years of warranty and I know you have to take it back to US. Shouldn't be a big problem since crossing Emerson border is close to you. What is the most warrantly you can get in Canada, 2 Years and only if you snowcheck. I want the Cdn dollar to rise little more over this summer, and off to US for sled. LOL LOL

There is also a big discrepancy on the trade in value and is no different than the US ($6,500 cdn or us) so the Cdn dealers really seem to think it is a one way street for them.
If I do upgrade looks like it will be down to the US again, I would prefer to buy local but they can not be competative.
Not sure how they can command a premium on the sled (not par) yet make trade in value par with US, come on guys works both ways.

that better than what two dealers quoted me.
09 xtx -- $11200
08 nytro -- $8000 trade in
= $3200 + taxes = $3584
= wife saying "I don't think so"

My dealer is being real cautious right now and average book is $6,300 and clean is $7,300 on a standard 08 Nytro.

I second the "check with Kevin at Port Yamaha"....
His price was hands down $1100 less than 3 other yammi dealers around Wisconsin.

Manitoba Canadians are getting screwed big time on pricing. With an average trade in value of $6300 to $7300 (extra clean), are you guys crazy?? You guys must have paid around $12000 or there abouts for your 08 FX Nytros. You are telling me it makes sense to trade up for 1 year newer and losing approx. $5000 for 1 riding season. THat is plainly nuts. Sure the 08's have there issues, do you think the 09's wont have problems. It is the style of the front end causing the problems and it is total bulls..t that Yamaha fixed it for 09. If you want the longer track of 144", by the billet rails from Ulmer Racing and the tunnel extension and make your 08 the 144" you dream about in the XTX.
Sorry to be ignorant, but I don't think the 09's are going to be any better, just great advertising. Wait for some aftermarket mods. They are going to be coming. You don't want my opinion, that is fine, but I am going to keep my 08 FX Nytro and buy a second sled rather than get hosed on a poor trade in allowance. LOL LOL

Well I paid just over 10K after the rebates for my 08', I am getting 8K for my trade and I will pay about $10800 for my XTX so its only half of your calculation. I buy a new sled every year so its not an issue of $5K per year its $3k at the worst.
And as for the issues, I have had no subframe bends and after lots of set up my RTX was a monster on a groomed trail. The squirreliness when decelerating disappered when I set the suspension up and put my pilot skis on.
Oh and if you put the miles on that I did maybe you could justify it. We are still riding 1.5 north of the Peg. Pine falls and Bird lake are still excellent. I rode for 6 days straight in Yellowstone 2 weeks ago and may do a Thompson trip next week.
We went out last night to Belair in the car and there was 3 inches of fresh powder there that landed yesterday. Still good there too.
