YAMAHA SHAFTS CANADIANS AGAIN

Been buying USA for my Yamaha rice rocket for years, usually 50% range of Canadian price. Just order some parts from Indain River Sports out of WI way better pricing once again

Definitely always shop around, especially if you are not in a rush.

Recently, I had been looking at getting a set of Yamaha mirrors for my Nytro. Up here, they retail for $140 + taxes equally over $150...ridiculous, and they just don't offer sales on parts and accessories, especially if it's a special order, which of course pretty much everything here is.

Well, after much searching around, I found a great price for the same part for considerably less in the States. Of course, I had to consider shipping, an issue when shipping across the border, plus there is the brokerage fees (stay away from UPS), exchange rate, plus all the taxes.

The final price? $54. That's it. Shipped to my door in less than 2 weeks, duties, exchange, taxes all included...$54 total.

Wake up Yamaha Canada.

Definitely stay away from UPS! They are a joke. Biggest scam. I had to use them when buying my Excell exhaust and got ripped.

I buy most everything in the US and the saving are huge across the border even with shipping included and taxes, duties etc. Wait time is not usually a factor. And I always ask them to send USPS.

I have a great Dealer and always get a deal but the price is always more than US.

Hope this changes in the future for us Canadian customers.

im lucky . i live 50 miles from the border, get is sent cheap or many times free and go down and pick it up. just bought a z broz front end kit. no cost to ship to us address. about 135 to ship to canada with fees

In my own personal dealings with Yamaha Canada I feel they are the biggest joke going.

They charge us Canadian so much more for sleds and they do not honor our warranties like USA Yamaha.

If Yamaha Canada is reading this and keeping score here is my track record. 1 Yamaha sled bought in Canada, 3 new Yamaha sleds bought from USA.

I go out of my way to promote to my friends do not bother buying anything Yamaha from Canada and just head down to the US, all my friends have listened.

Yamaha Canada needs to go back to the school of how you treat customers. Yamaha Canada is making this hard on Canadian dealers and easy on US retailers, go figure.

My suggestion for anyone on this forum thinking about buying from Yamaha Canada , run don't walk to the nearest USA dealer. All warranties are still good in USA.

I must admit I feel bad for any Canadian Yamaha dealer they get screwed, most of the Canadian dealers I speak with are talking about dropping Yamaha anyway so I am sure Yamaha will get the message just wonder if it will be to late.

wouldnt blame any dealers for droping yamaha in canada. i have had a attack from utah, saver $4500 landed. a 150 4stroker outboard from minnesota save $3600 2 dirt bike at approx $2000 each less that had no warranty from factory anyways. the dealers that offer good service are getting screwed as much as canadian customers. yamaha usa trying to stop canadians from buying in the states is a hopeless cause. many ways around it. ps . THE SAME. HOPE YAMAHA READS AND SEES THESE PISSED OFF CANADIAN COMMENTS

Just curious if anyone knows- when BRP makes Sleds or parts in Canada (Quebec?) how do prices compare in Canada and US. Is it like beer where we can buy our own product for less across the border?

That is correct, still a lot cheaper to go across the border to buy our own manufactured goods.

It's no wonder why U.S. sled sales heavily outnumber Canadian sled sales, and I don't just mean Yamaha. I mean all OEMs.

Sure would be interesting to see a figure on how many sleds are sold and brought across the border though.

I got most of my parts this year from a USA dealer that ships USPS and welcomes Canadian business, weird concept!!!!!! I forgot a few things so off the dealer I went and thought I'd give them a shot, asked for an oil filter but never asked price as I needed it, $26.00, let's just say last trip......

I wanted to get a rear seat for my sled. Found a dealer in the US that sells it for $225 + $40 shipping to Canada. Went to my dealer and asked how much it was here: $295. Showed him the US price and he said he would match it ($265).

Maybe if we give 'em the chance, they might be able to bring down the price. A small profit for them is better than no profit.

needed a set of lower a arms for my 2009 nytro xtx. i fell over when told $438 canadian each. OUCH! got mad for awhile and then calmed down . hey if you need them you need them. i have a pretty good dealer and he offered a reduced price. just for the hell of it i went on line and used the canadian part no to have a peek at US dealers. $259. retail. LOL. i started to roll on the floor. same part no on the bag coming from the same jap factory , distance between the can and us dealer is 130 miles.
MUST BE THE EXCHANGE RATE? oh ya its only 3 cents on the dollar. must be the shiping? must be at least $100 extra to ship. maybe its the dutuies. NOT. talk about sticking it to you canadian customers and the great dealers we have here. canadian dealers cost is more than the retail in the states.
guess we are too stupid to figure out what yamaha is doing to us. ahhhhh duhhhhhh.

THANKS AGAIN YAMAHA CANADA

I actually find that canadian parts for yamaha quads can be cheaper then the US. Maybe my dealer gives me a deal but i doubt it. At the worst they may be a few bucks more but I would rather buy locally since he supports me when I am in a bind. So far the sled parts I have bought have been decent price as well. Same province as you too.

you must be shopping in dugald or pembina???

I just think that they have been in the mindset of having higher Canadian prices for so long that they're not used to lowering them when the dollar gets close to parity. That's when we start complaining about it. As someone else said, vote with your wallet and buy wherever you can get it cheaper. Ask if your dealer can match the US price. Eventually, they will complain to Yamaha Canada as their profits drop or dealers just close down.

Anyone in Europe able to comment on the price for this item? I wonder what it costs in Alaska? There is no amount of taxes, duty, or shipping that can account for a price difference that big when you compare it to other things that are imported and sold in both countries.

Alaska is pretty close to the lower 48 for new sled prices. Previous year leftovers don't drop as much because the demand is not as high.

So I guess we can rule out shipping costs as a factor!

bought 07 phazer from U.S., saved approx. $3500. 08 nytro rtx saved $4000., 09 nytro xtx saved $4200. Go to the Yamaha home page for Canada and then go to the US and compare prices......HUGE... the dollar is at PAR!!!!!!!!! Had a good friend buy his 09 ski doo from my guy in the US;
he saved approx $3000....for a Canadian made product (and he is not a BRP dealer!!!!!!) and BRP tells US dealers if they are caught selling to Canadians they will loose their dealership!!!!! So bottom line is... we are getting screwed not just buy Yamaha of Canada but also other manufactures.

PS. had an issue with the starter motor on the 08 nytro ( jan 2011.... off waranty of course...) called my US dealer and asked if there has been any issues??? Said No! but bring down the starter and we will cover the cost! Never had service like that from my Canadian dealer......ever!!!! even when I was purchasing up here..
