I drilled the stock Riser and attached a RAM Ball Mount (UBolt Mount Ball) with stainless hardware:

I slotted the stock "pad" if you can call it that, to fit down over the bar of the ball mount.

I attached my 76Cx using Garmin Cradle and arm. A shorter arm is available and I may try it later.

From above front:

I think it will work ok for trail riding and I can go steering lock to lock sitting or standing with my feet locked in and it doesn't impact my legs or knees so it might even survive a little playing in the bumps.

Hey bagadonitz, how did your mount system work out for you last season. Did it stand up to the tough trails? I'm contemplating the same thing for my sled.

I did the same thing on my Apex and it worked perfectly all season. No looking around things to see the GPS when needed. Used the RAM mount as well. It never moved no matter how rough the trail got

Can you get the gas cap off and fill it up with the mount there or do you have to take off the GPS when re-filling????

I know there is no issue with my Apex. It looks a bit close on the nitro. I don't think he would remove it just loosen the ball clamp and move it slightly to either side.

I missed updating this and came across this looking for a new place to mount mine.
It worked excellent all season until I went over a 4 foot drop, very slowly when riding in a white out. I slammed into the GPS and broke off the ball mount on the riser. Everything else was fine.
There was no issue with gassing up. Those arms are perfect. With gloves on you can loosen, move and tighten it out of the way in two seconds.
I don't really like it there because of hitting it and breaking it last season. But I can't find anywhere else logical to put the thing and I won't ride without it. I have tried cobbling it up next to the speedo and while I can get it in there, it is a nightmare then to use it.
I'm strongly debating trying it on the plastic piece of the shroud that goes over the gas tank, right between my legs so to speak. It seems like it might work there.
