Gas Gauge Off???

Hopefully, any info will help. Ordered a new sender today so hope it was that as it is an easy enough fix.

maybe sledhead will chime in and tell us what he replaced specifically.
I replaced the entire gas guage assembly. It was east! 4 screws and a plug. Problem solved! Parts 9 and 10 on the gas tank diagram. I got the entire unit.

thanks sledhead... I will check this out. did you notice a difference in them? float sticking?

Perfect thats what I ordered and hope it works for my problem.

Here is a thought.....The auto industry for several years now has been having a simillar issue. After research and testing of the removed fuel senders they have concluded that high sulfer content in modern fuels is causing concerns with the resistor card. All the automotive manufactures have released bullitens to add a can of Chevron Techron Plus into your full tank of fuel and it cleans the resistor card on the sender and the problem goes away. If this is not done and you just replace the sending unit, you end up having the same concern. So that being said since my sled is having this issue, I will add a can of Techron Plus this weekend (we got 14" of snow yesterday) and see if my concern goes away.
:4STroke: :yam: :rocks:

techron is supposed to be good stuff. I have a bottle ready to put through the wifes yukon.

Any parts store should carry it, NAPA, AutoZone, Pep boys etc. ;)!

Yes, I noticed, the gas guage works fine now, just like it used to. Nothing is sticking.

put the new fuel sender in yesterday and seems to work. Went for a little ride and the gauge only went down one bar, not all ha ha.

Costed me about $100, takes a total of 1 minute to change it out.
