No It dosen't hit anything and it is not in the way of the gas cap. Not in the way when fueling her up either. Thanx for the resize Zak.

So does the bracket go back underneath the handlebars and bolt to the original mounting holes? Did you start with a square piece of aluminum and cut/shape it by hand?
Thanks,
Tom
Thanks,

Well kinda, You have to take off the bars and turn the riser around so that the holes are to the back. Than bolt it back together. I started with a flat square piece and shaped it to the back of the pod. Than cut out the hole for the plug and drilled the three hole need to mount it. It is not to hard to fab it. I made one for someone else on this site last year. Maybe they will chime in and tell you how they like it.

X2, I'm going to copy the design as well if you don't mind. I would never thought of turning around the riser... that doesn't change the handlebar position at all does it?
No I don't mind,It doesn't chang anything but the holes that you mount the new bracket to. I want to see pics when you guys are done.

I agree that is some good thinking. I have flipped the stock mount upside down and didnt care for it, but what you did is cool. Nice job.

Well think of it this way, when your sitting you can see it fine and when you standing up do you really have time to look at it any ways??

X2 on what Yukonranger said.

mines done the same as zooks, no problems what so ever, easy to hit reverse etc.

zook said:You could allways make a new bracket and relocate it down by the gas cap like I did.
Did you use self tapers or did you tap some new holes you drilled ???
No , you use all the stock bolts. Take the riser off and turn it around. If you have a windshield on it it will still bolt right up.

Neat job on the relocation bracket. Unfortunately I think it would not work with the handlebar bag. Right?
Tks,
