I have a set of Parts Unlimited gauntlets that I mostly keep as emergency spares in case my hand warmers ever go out. I've tried them a few times and they work well, but it is an acquired taste. You won't have the room around your hands that you're used to, and it can be a little weird the first few times you try and grab the brake, especially in sudden situations. A lot of people use them and like them.

take a look at the Skinz heat loc handguards. they cover a lot more than stadrad handguards and can be put on/off in seconds

I have the ones that go over my power madd hand guards. They work well when it's -35.

That's what I run on my Apex for everyday use, and I like them. I do have a set of gauntlets for emergencies. Nothing will keep you warmer than gauntlets, but the heat loc hand guards offer a lot more mobility.

wonder if it would be possible / practical (probably not) to use those heat loc guards by themselves without the hand guards. i was looking at my sled tonight and think the hand guards would be hard to do a nice job installing plus it looks like they would hit the windshield. between the handle bar bag, handle bar mounted mirrors, temperature gauge and Garmin mount i think i'm bout flat out of real estate on my bars.

hmmm...check that a little surfing shows that they are meant to be used stand alone it's just that they will fit over guards. looks like something i might have to spend more money on. now the question is should i get the pros or the trail version. i'd like the most warmth i can get but am kinda picky about things getting in the way of moving my hands all over the bars, pro would probably be the ticket

I have your same set up. The Powermadd gauntlets are awesome, I too recommènd them, as did a poster above. Just remove the mirrors on days you want to use the gauntlets.

I had wishful thinking that there might be some thing on the market that let me use the mirrors with the gaunlets because here in Quebec it's against the law to run without mirrors !!!Super Sled said:cat hunter said:I have powermadds with mirrors attached whats the best gauntlets for this setup ???

Get one of those mirrors you put around your wrist. They actually work pretty good.

I use the pro version in conjunction with the factory plastic hand guards. It helps keep them in place a little better. If you use the heat loc hand guards by themselves, it's fine.. but I already had them so I figured why not keep them on?
I don't think the trail version would bother you either. They are bigger but they don't get in the way really.

i'd really like to give these a shot but i'm kinda skeptical if i can get them installed in a decent fashion. i have so much crap hanging off the bars now there might not be room to strap them on so they fit properly. i have the handlebar bag, factory mirror kit, on the left mirror bracket i mounted the temperature gauge, on the right one the garmin mount i made. it's getting pretty crowded. i still might order a set i can always pawn them off on my brother

You cannot use the wrist mirror in PQ, they want the mirrors fixed to the sled. I've toyed with the idea of cutting a hole in the gauntlet to stick the mirror through but never got around to doing it as I have never bought a PQ pass.
