I just picked up my new 2010 Vector Ltx friday, looking for any input with regard to set up, needs, positives and negatives, wanna get it ready to go. Thinking about clutching, and some other goodies from Ulmer, but I think I should wait a few hundred miles. Any comments. Also the skis/carbides etc. Who has the answer here, reading alot about changing skis, adjusting the shocks, changing carbides...all help welcome. Btw I am 220lbs ride pretty agressively TIA

Sweet ride. I would ride it a few hundred miles to see what it may be lacking and go from there. I know, that is coming from somebody that did a bunch of crap before I rode my XTX......

Also I forgot to add being 220lbs you may get away with the stock mono spring but will probably want to upgrade to a fat boy spring and a revavle. I used Goodwin in Ill for my revavle on my attak with a bigger spring after the first season.

On my 2008 ltx I ended up tightening the limiter strap up 1 hole after my first ride to help with the handling. I also took all preload off of the front springs and added bergstrom runners with shims. Mine was so tippy with the stock settngs from the dealer I wanted to chuck it off of a cliff. It is much better now. I believe I also dialed in less transfer but that is a personal preference. I played around with the rear shock dial but needed a revalve from Pioneer to make it perfect. I only tip the scales at 180 however.

You will be fine. I rode mine and I am 220 6' 3" and didn't have any issues.

Leave the skis and get snowtrackers aggressive. You will not dart and it will handle awesome. Limiter strap up one hole.

The '10 LXT is a great sled. Previous was Apex ER '06. Best performance is 0 to 80 mph. Not the long legs of the Apex after 80. My best speedo has been 102 on current snow conditions, Vs 125 on the Apex (114 GPS). Vector much quieter handles better, still darted. 21 mpg Vs 14 mpg, same type driving. Bergstrom triple point, shims and space savers really help. Darting gone, but still hunts (follows deeper ski paths). May try dullies (wash my mouth), Stud Boy Dueces. Also have Sly Dog with Bergstrom set up, no real difference, likely sell the Sly Dogs, need more test time. Sly Dog on the Apex ER were great. The blades on the Snow Trackers should help. These are similar to those SLP uses on there short carbide SLT's, which really worked on my '02 800 M-10 Polaris.. Still have those blades and may modify to adapt to the Bergstrom. Always something to do.
