What all are you running in your mtn RX1s?, and I am talking to the ones climbing and deep powder not the ones that use there mtn sled for drags or top speed just trackspeed in the powder. Let me know what you r running?

One of the dealers says to gear up for more trackspeed in the deep stuff makes no sence to me. Says to throw everything I know about two strokes and throw it out the window but it seems like that is one thing that should still apply. Am I wrong?

I ran a 20/40 last weekend. Way better than the stock 21/40. Just got my 19 tooth from the dealer and will install it before I ride again.
Lower gearing will allow you to use the clutches more efficently. Your belt will run cooler and you'll climb higher on the hills.

STOCK TRACK

Sounds good I am running the stock track but still am thinking that the 19-42 will help I would like to go to 162x16x2.3 Skidoo track but wont have money for awhile. Sounds like I should try that lower gearing even with the stock track?

Have any of you used the Thunder Products main jets to take care of the carb float bowl fuel starving issue. $10 a piece versus buying new bowls none of the dealers will update mine for free around here. I re3ad about them on here and wondering if any of u are using them?

Thanks, Justin

to run 42 thooths, you dont have reverse ?

I want 19-40 but i dont want to spend the 200 $ for the 68 link chain. Is there a bigger reverse gear ? or can i get another chain than the RX-1 chain ?

I tried that 42 tooth reverse gear and it hit the Idler wheel in the chaincase. MPI will tell you it fits but it doesn't. You will have to have the idler wheel turned down at a machine shop. I had a picture but I think I may have deleted it after I returned the gear.

So what are the options for guys with reverse? Stick with the 40 on bottom and go to a 19 or 20 top? How much of a difference would one see dropping form stock 21/40 to 20/40 or 19/40?

With reverse I'm running 19 40. I did notice on the stock motor the 19 40 didn't crawl as well as the 19 42 but with the turbo it just doesn't matter anymore.

8FAs

I am running the 8FA wights still they had 2 rivets in them which I dont think were supposed to be there removed them and put on a 39 degree helix seemed to work better and hold rs better. The Yamaha shop here decided to order me a float bowl update and just charge me frieght. So I will have that annoying near vertical angle fuel starvation issue.

No lie......with the Maverick track and the mods done to my sled I have done, I can ride in that bottomless powder all day long and not get stuck anymore. Night and day difference when they are moded right! Looks fun!

Maverick

Aaron, I had that maverick and about 900 miles on it not really hitting much the paddles are starting to come off this was on my last sled a viper. On my Vmax4 which had way more power had a 159 2 15 Challenger that track stood up to some abuse.
