geared 21-38 mine will still do over 113 on radar .gearing down will not make you slower clutch right and use all of the clutches

my rx has 10 tooth drivers, 144 track, and 22-42 gears. the gear calculation says 112 mph, but so far this year i have seen 115. when i changed tracks this year from 136 to 144 i was going to put in a 43 bottom but my chain was too short, i will need a 72 link chain, but for now im happy with it. 22-43 works out to 109 mph, but my clutches will overdrive past 120.

your 21-38 gearing at 10500rpm with 9 tooth drivers works out to 104.4mph. add 7% and your at about 113mph. sounds right to me. mines geared for 112mph, add 7% and its over 120.

i use a old cat formula 21 divided by 38 times .0192 times clutch rpm times 1.12 times overdrive 1.07 which equals 110.6 mph at 8650 clutch rpm not engine rpm as there is a gear reduction on a rx1

A gearing calculator is more accurate as it measures each turn of the drivers and its circumference all working back to the engine at wot with a 1-1 clutch or overdrive. Check the one out with the link in my sig.
