What have people tried for getting ice of their trailer floors that was effective. I have an enclosed trailer, its a 16 ft box with a 7ft V and Id like to get the ice melted. Not a fan of using salt and unfortunately its too tall to go through my garage door otherwise it would be in there melting away.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

How about running a small electric heater in there then vaccuming up the water?

Or how about chipping it gently then sweeping out the chunks?

I couldn't agree more LOL

I was looking at Mr Heater models but thought it might take too long to thaw it out. When I put my sleds in the garage they take at least 8 hrs before they are close to thawing out.
Has anyone actually tried a Mr heater in an enclosed trailer and if so which model?. I do have the trailer insulated but was curious as to how long it might take. I have tried chipping it but i can see how I'd end up with a floor covered in ice pick marks.

when i get back from trip i put the slides side by side build a tent
over them using a tarp and cardboard
use a turbo heater half hour for each sled

Big buddy heater with fan, doesn't take too long. Only a few hours and you can leave trailer heated so when you pull in it's warm already. I have 4 place inline and when its parked heat is on.

There is a buddy and a big buddy. The big has a fan and will hold 2 1lb propane tanks. I hook it to 20 lb tank and it will last almost a week depends on setting.

They have oxygen sensor also so you don't kill yourself but you need vents open for fresh air.

Thanks
Which model Big Buddy heater do you have? Ive been looking at them but aren't sure which one would be best.

If it's cold out you can't win. I tried the other day running a Kero space heater for hours and it didn't do much at all..but the next day it warmed up parked in the sun it started melting.

I was looking at this today at Menards and this is the one I am leaning towards. What size trailer are you using it in and how long have you had it ? Does the battery last as described, I think they say 8 hours??? How long does this take to thaw out your trailer and on how cold a day?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make the best choice.

Knock the big chunks out with a hammer and leave the rest till it warms up.

We had a nice sunny day yesterday and it all melted off the black parts at the door seal.
That got swept up and the rest is fine to stay till it melts on another warm day.
January thaw is this week anyway.

Here is link, like I said it has low OX sensor and will run 5x as long on a 20lb tank. The one you are looking at will melt plastic on sleds if you can't get it far enough away, it will heat way more sq footage. This one you can hang on a wall. Either way you'll need wall vents or a roof vent open to let fresh air in. Mine will heat 6.5x27.5 box to 70 when it's 20 outside. Search Google for pricing they retail around $140 but you can buy them for around $100. You'll need a longer hose for 20lb tank and power adapter for fan if your trailer has 110v or D batteries to run fan.
