I was looking at this today at Menards and this is the one I am leaning towards. What size trailer are you using it in and how long have you had it ? Does the battery last as described, I think they say 8 hours??? How long does this take to thaw out your trailer and on how cold a day?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make the best choice.
Had it for 2 years now and love it.
I bought it to heat my 26 x 26 insulated garage for when need to work on something. Last Friday needed to cleanup my sled from dirt, swamp water and cattails. Pulled sled in fired up heater, 1/2 hour later came back and could work in a t-shirt.
Most of time when I use it I just plugging it in. But super handy to take on trips and warm up trailer if you need to work on a sled. Lot easier working on something without cold hands. So for me probably most I ran it off of battery probably an hour or so.
If you wanted to thaw your trailer wouldn't take more than hour to loosen things up to where you could clean it up. If your talken let everything melt to water that would take more time.
I was leary like you not sure what to buy, would I use it, is it over kill. But no regrets here, great unit.

The Mr Heater Hero is just enough BTU's of heat (35K) to get the job done. However, there are a couple drawbacks. It consumes oxygen and emits CO2 so you need a fresh air supply. It also puts a lot of moisture in the air. Adequate ventilation takes care of both issues but does of course waste heat. The externally vented heaters designed for campers are the best way to go, but much more costly.
