Buddy has a 2009 600 E-tec that only has 1100 miles on it and a head bolt came loose on it and now the head is warped and a valve sensor went out on it. He is done for the season because they are on backorder for 3 weeks. I guess those engines aren't as good as advertised if the parts are on backorder that means they must have lots of problems or they just have shitty service. Either way I am glad I bought two yamaha's. :yam:

I'm waiting on the right side Y pipe for my Attak. Dealer said it will be in 3/19. Seems to me that no dealer carries any parts anymore. They all have to be ordered. Very annoying as that's usually a week. I complained to the parts manager and he said Yamaha is actually pretty good. Arctic Cat parts are all on back order....according to him.

...i think that i would be looking in other places for the Y pipe..There is no way i would wait 1 month..Snow could be gone bye then.

I would agree about going aftermarket, I broke my Y pipe on my Nytro back where the 3 pipes come into one. I went with a MBRP pipe it is bigger pipe,(they claim 6 more HP) it's built much heavier and I had it in 2 days.

I was at my dealer today getting some stuff for my Rhino and asked them about the new Doo 800 etec (They sell all brands). They said it was freaking unbeleivable. I then asked what they thought the relaibilty would be and they said in the 2 years of the 600 etec they had yet to have an engine problem. This was straight from the mouth of the service manager.

My 06 sdi was amazing, so I dont see why the etec wouldnt be. But every service guy says the same thing, they are all full of it, lol!

Last I heard in the summer skidoo was stopping all overstocking and going to a new system. Something like a certain % of certain parts every few weeks.
This had to do with the economy, and saving money.
I would just assume all companies are doing the same.

Ask Dirk Diggler about his wifes Vector LTX GT that put a connecting rod through the case at about 300 miles.

Its like pulling into a gas station and them saying "Well we don't have any gas right now but, we can order some!!"

I have some experience with AC... I trashed my '95 Thunder Cat back in 1995 and a new frame had to be ordered, the middle section of the frame. This was not in stock anywhere in Europe so had to be ordered from US. After two (!!!!) months the damn frame arrived. Guess what, it turned out to be the wrong frame piece. It was labeled wrong in the factory/warehouse, so instead of a Thunder Cat frame, a Wild Cat frame arrived. And of course it didn't fit. So no point in ordering a new one from the factory as it for sure would be the wrong piece arriving again. After a couple of weeks my dealer found the correct frame piece from a local Swedish dealer who happed to have it in stock and it was shipped to Norway.
The sled was put together just in time for the high season of Easter...

Needless to say I sold the damn thing the same season and bought a 1996 Vmax 600 ST. And it's running like a Swiss clock after 14 years ;)!

I am on my second motor in my 600 e-tec Renegade. So far the 10 motor is holding up, but the season is not over yet.

Service Managers are full of #*$&@. The dealer has 9 sleds in for head repair. You would be lucky to find that in a year from Yamaha.
