Glove Box on 08 models

This is a pic of the parts diagram for the 08 rtx model which shows they have added a glove box, can someone with an 08 please post an actual picture of this and comment on how much room is in the box. I have an 07 fx and would like to know if this would fit and if there is enough room for a spare belt. Thanks.

I also was wondering if they could be retrofitted to 2007 sleds. It looks like a hard box from the parts diagram.

Terret725 I know which one you are talking about, it was an accessory last year but are you sure the one they are fitting to the 08's?

It is not a hard box. They fit on the 07's just fine. You can fit belt,tool kit, and a few other small things. 28.00 @ the dealer. Look in the Yamaha book part # SMA-8GC23-00-00
 
I also think that it is a hard box, from the diagram you can see that it mounts over near the clutch cover not on the front bulk head like the accessory one. I have the accessory one and it is a pita when you are out riding, the back velcro pieces do not stay attached so its only held on by the straps that hard to get tight. Also it gets covered with snow and ice. I think that if Yamaha decided to get rid of the rear box on the 08's they would come up with something better to replace it.
 
nope it def is soft and def mounts in the front bulkhead. its not hat easy to give an object a soft fabric look using a cad software. plus there is bearly any room ove the clutch
 
Well, unless they have the drawing messed up... than that is not the same "tool pouch" in the accessory catalog.

The one in the catalog is part number: SMA-8GC23-00-00 (tool pouch)

And the one shown here is part number: 8GC-77735-00-00 (and its listed with the name "glove box")
 
i have an 08 rtx and thats what i have on it and its a pouch. the one in the catalog uses Velcro for the bottom and the one that comes stock has clips riveted to the frame that u can just snap into. also doesnt have the tuning forks on it. so technically its not the same but its so close that u couldnt tell the dif if they were side by side. id u dont believe me go to ur dealer and check for ur self on an 08
 
For last years pouch it is a PITA and with the recall that was performed it is a bigger PITA considering the boots cover the top bar that the straps go around. So now my issue is finding a new way to mount this pouch.
 
it is even better if you have a skid plate on it. ha, ha.
