Glowing header+turbo vs camtiming?

Is it possible to change the camtiming to minimize the glowing in header and turbo?. I have built a midmount-header that is made in thicker material than the headers you can buy, but it still is so hot that the exhaustwrapping falls apart after a few runs.

When i bought the RX -03 it had a CPR front mount, but that header falled apart after a while. I dont want this one to do the same..

The previous owner told me that he had some help from this forum to time the camshafts for maximum response, but all i know is that only one camhaft is adjusted. Does anyone has a clue if that timing can make it glow worse than it has to be, and what timing should i use to prevent it?. If it is possible to adjust, will it make a big loss in HP and throttleresponse?.
