Glowing red hot muffler

Stopped on the trail the other night and could see the inside of the muffler glowing red! Seems that there used to be a bit of carbon or soot on the muffler tip, but now she's real clean. Anyone notice this... was running 92-94 gas all weekend. Seems like it's running lean.

nope i guess thats one thing i missed out on lol, but just before i finished her off i could hear it getting louder where my dealer put new gaskets on lol

I havn't noticed it on mine. How many miles on it? I'm not an engine mechanic, but the phazer is fuel injected, so there may be a problem with the ecm...?

Its normal. Most all do it. Even other models do it.

Definitley agree. Sounds like an really lean condition. Easy way to tell is to check the plugs and see how they look. I would get it checked out with the dealer.

Mine glows red-hot too. We asked the 'experts' at a local Sled-Mod shop and he said it is normal. I am having other heat issues, so he did say it might be running a little lean, but in general, it would still glow red... I run Premium Gas (92 Octane).

Maybe cause my front hole is still open but my FMF never gets too warm.

2200 miles on sled, checked the air box...ok, maybe I will pull the plugs and see how they look. Front hole is also open.

If you are running the stock muffler, it will glow red a little bit at night, mine did it too! There is alot of back preasure in the stock pipe! When i changed to my procircuit pipe it runs alot cooler now. Less back preasure!

back preassure isn't an issue with the engine i'm assuming? like it doesn't back fire on you or sputter out?
