Goggle questions for new helmet???

Thanks for the help guys ;)! Think I will try my Scott's and the 509's. I checked out their website, and the new 2009 model look pretty cool. Have any of you tried the new polarized lenses? Also are you carrying two pairs with and without tint, or trying to wear sun glasses? There are so many tints from 509 it's crazy. In my BV2S I use the blue shield. The orange didn't do it for me.

Do you wearglasses? I noticed you mentioned OTG, I use the Scott Voltage X OTG goggles and like them allot, they don't do the very best job at covering your entire face, I hear the thermamax is great but no OTG in them, as far as the 509's I don't believe they have any OTG frames. As far as lenses I carry two pairs of frames with day and night lenses, not worth trying to change them out all the time, switch at dusk and ride.

I have 509 also. I use 509's with the old style ToBe helmet. Underneath is just a balacava. Ive riddin in -20 below and didnt get cold once.

Night time riding I use the clear lenses, during the day I use the Yellow tint the HD lense basically. The lenses them self say scratch resistent but they do scratch fairly easy in my opinion.

I bought the OTG for two reasons. One is I wear contacts, and if they get stupid on me in the cold I can switch to glasses if need be. Hate to, but better then itchy frozen eyes. Also thought it was a nice mix if I wanted to wera sun glasses underneath. Instead of screwing with lense covers. You guys are right with the coverage on the Scott's. I either wear a neoprene face cover with no top, or the balaclava when it gets real cold. I only have worn it for two weekends since my cousin needed to borrow a helmet, and his head was to big for my old Mod 2 BRP :tg: . Thanks for the info guys this is informative ;)!

i run the pro-vue's ,i like that i can swap out lenses with three other tints..also the base lense is clear for night riding, comes with a nice case to hold the lenses when noy in use.

the tint i have for my 509's is the Blue Chrome/Orange Tint. I use those all the time night or day.

coverage is very good on those goggles i use a turtle fur balaclava that i wear up to my nose and it works great. ridden in lots of negative degree weather and it is still warm.

Now that we figured the goggles, have a question on the lenses. How do the chrome, blue, or polarized models work when there is a lot of snow dust from the sled in front of you? Seems like an orange tint of one may work the best from what I am hearing, or possibly the polarized??

Really like my yellow lenses for day riding, seems to cut down on the brightness of the snow and seems to help with snow dust. I can make out moguls better with the yellow.

I have a pair of Spys I have had for three years. The lenses are dual lenses and has just a slight tint works great night or day. They have never fogged up on me. I think I am switching this year though to the 509 with polarized lenses. I usually do most of my riding during the day. Sled is parked a beer is being drank at night so I usually don't need clear lenses.

The yellow tint is great, its def. a day time setup specially with the sun shining, as for night nothing beats the clear and its highly recommended. Like I said in a prevous post the yellow is almost HD You can really see the bumps, and also keeps the sun down to a very acceptable brightness.
