Got frostbite this weekend on my cheeks. Somehow my foam failed under each eye. First time in this set of goggles. Never had fogging issues. I wear a no-fog. So new goggles it is.
Did my due diligence today and went to try some new goggles and took my helmet to the dealership to try a few out.
509 sinister x5--- best viewing area. Just not enough foam on top, forhead.
509 aviators-- look sweet. Wouldn't seal on the side of my eyes. Not a good fit at all.
Scott hustle--smaller viewing area. Great foam around goggle. Best seal of any. Just kinda small and lots of the frame in the viewing area.
Scott recoil--smallest viewing area and felt small but filled in air voids. Not liking how small they were.
Castle(can't remember the model)---decent viewing area but single lens. Felt cheap and flimsy.
Any other options out there with decent foam to seal? They didn't have Smith or dragons to try, but it looks like I am gonna have to get soemthing off the internet.
Current helmet is hjc cx4 vapor with Scott hi-voltage goggles and quick strap.
Don't really need a new helmet but if its a decent helmet/google relationship I could get one in the off season.
Just need some options because I wasn't impressed with the fit of those available.

I have used the Hustle, Xi and now Sinister X5. The X5 are far the best for the viewing area.
I use a HJC CL-X6 and a quick strap system. Instead of trying to find the perfect fitting goggle/helmet combo I modified my balaclava.
I purchased a motorcycle face mask which is the same material as a No Fog. I cut off the back area of the face mask and sewed it onto my balaclava.
This gives my double the protection on the areas that could be exposed when using a mx style helmet and works like a built in breathe box or No Fog.
I have used this in temps as cold as -35*c (-31*F) with no issues around the goggle foam and helmet.
I do experience cold air coming into the goggle and making my eyes water but that is the design of the goggle.
As every ones head is slightly different and helmet and goggle manu's are slightly different a helmet/goggle combo that works for Johnny may not work for Jimmy.
My doubled up balaclava removes some of these variables. Klim's Artic and FXR ( don't remember the model name) are similar to what I have done.
I use a the Klim Artic on warmer days. This balaclava has a large mouth opening allowing lots of fresh air to come to your nose and mouth.
Great on warm days but awful on cold days. The Unwind balaclava has a mesh opening for the mouth and with the biker mask acting as the breathe box it slows the incoming air keeping my mouth from freezing.
