For me time is money and I have a new baby boy so my time is limited. My repair time is (was) directly proportionate to my ride time. I'd rather have to do an engine every 10,000 kms than haul the skid out every week or take the front clip off to replace bushings and broken bolts. The crazy part about the Phazer is that it needs to be dismantled to do just about any repair. Just don't have the time for that any more.7 skulls said:soul_hammer said:The problem with the etech or the rush is the price. I just can't bring myself to pay over 10 grand for a sled. But I suppose if Yamaha does decide to own the competition and bring out a 100 hp phazer it will be over 10 grand so I guess im damned if I do and damned if I don't.
I can't see paying over 10 grand for a 2-stroke anymore. Would love the lightness and handling but I guess it boils do to if you want an engine which will outlive the chassis or a chassis which will outlive the engine. I can do alot of chassis/suspension mods for the price of one engine rebuild on a doo.
As sleds get more expensive, reliability becomes more important for me.
I dont blame you but almost every fix I have done using info and suppliers here has been a long term fix.Meaning there is a means to end most issues.Still doesnt handle or feel like a 2st but I have just accepted it for what it is and I dont think I had any repairs last year or year before on suspension.Just early year tightening up of steering and thats all.Just spent the day riding quads.Rode with a guy with a 250r and another with a Banshee.Been a long time since riding with 2st and I tell you what. When they were leading it really got to me.The stink was really annoying.

Yep. The only guy smelling 2stroke is the guy in the back on the 4stroke. I got that a lot last year! Hahaha

Anything with an exhaust not going out the back stinks.

True, but you can mount the gas tank directly on the tunnel and have actual storage on the rear!UP bushman said:Anything with an exhaust not going out the back stinks.![]()

Got the sled last night. Very, very clean. Sad to see the Yammie go, hopefully someone will treat her right. Yamaha, if you start making a lightweight durable off-trail machine, you can bet I'll be the first in line. Until then, keep the rubber side down...unless you have a Roll Over Valve, lol! Have a great winter everyone!

Have fun on the doo! Ski-doo sent me a flyer, 3 year engine coverage, price reduction of up to $1000, $1500 rebate and $300 personal rebate.
Was tempted but a 2012 tnt was still over 10 grand even with the rebates. Gonna keep the faith for one more winter.
