Nice!
Nice article! Do you know if the support plate for the fron bolt of the skid is aluminum or steel (or brass?)
Looks like a simple enough solution to gain som rigity..

Based on the current material, thickness, application and other factors, I would go with steel. Looks to be a piece of galvanized maybe 2.00mm thick. For normal riding you may be able to reuse the stock bracket, aggressive, I would fab up a larger one like that shown.
It's funny, how much they are praising the 128", I have to say I really think it improved my Nytro as well, I didn't shift the skid back, and of coarse didn't have the front end but I notice a sizable difference with just the extra length, short as it may be I think it helps with balancing and stabilizing the sled.

Cool post. Makes me want to move my 136 mono back on my Attak. There is some on board video of a CC Nytro #*$&@ whooping that is cool to watch as it eats the skidoos for breakfast lunch and dinner.

I would be surprised if the support plates were cadmium plated. Because of the toxicity with cadmium plated parts, the motorized world prohibited cadmium plating of parts some 10 years ago. My guess is either low carbon steel plates with an electroplated zinc and yellow tri-valent plating or they could be alumminum plates anodized yellow. G.B.

I been seeing that color plating on yamahas for years and it never rusts(even leaving near the salt water).Gone Blue said:bottlerocket said:soldi said:Nice article! Do you know if the support plate for the fron bolt of the skid is aluminum or steel (or brass?)
