Got a 2014 viper for my wife and I don't care for the stock clutching. I have the BOP soft start spring so that is good but it is a little "jumpy" taking off. Looking for a clutch kit that smooths things out and keeps real low engagement. Not really worried about performance. I'm thinking Ulmer or TP, but looking for feedback. All stock now but I do have secondary belt adjuster. Running 8JP belt but could move to 8DN if needed. (would rather not cut clutches though if that is required)

The best clutch kit out there for smooth low rpm engagement is Schmidt Bros Comfort Clutch. It comes with smaller primary rollers and a new primary spring. It'll work great for your wife.

TP hands down, very smooth engagement and decent performance gains to.

Yep grizz is right I have had schmidt bros spring and rollers in 3 of my wifes sleds with nice low engagement and lots of pull!

I wouldn’t get TP. I called them today with questions and they couldn’t answer them. Ulmer is what I used on my apex and was great!

What questions could they not answer?I've seen there are a few people on here that can help you as they helped develop the big venom kit

I wanted to know spring rate on their secondary spring. I’m having issues getting the sled to rev over 8100 at wot. All he could tell me is how they “normally” set the weights which is how mine are set. I asked what spring rate for primary and he couldn’t answer that. It currently has a blue silver blue in it, I’m guessing it needs a heavier spring in primary.

I'm sure nos-pro or shagman will chime in

I was hoping someone could point me in a direction. I’m not trying to bash anyone, was just disappointed when they where less then helpfull on the phone. I’m new to working on clutching.

Those 2 will help you out .they are the clutching wizards

The Thunder products kits definitely makes slow speed maneuvers easier but I still find myself “blipping” the throttle to creep along. A lot that is with the ECU programming though, really hard to find a sweet spot when the lightest press of the throttle make the RPMs jump quickly. Stock Clutch I had to dang near drag the brake to keep the sled from jumping a few feet at a time. My Phazer will crawl smoothly around, but I installed a primary spring with very little preload (keeping the rate and total close to stock)on that sled which dropped engagement from 4300 to 3500 (~2500 clutch speed)

White Pink White primary spring is giving me very smooth low engagement without jumping. Also using TP venom with 1” screws in heel with gates belt. BSB was to jumpy for me. PWP spring has the same final force as BSB.

I was looking at that spring, what are you seeing for engagement speed? Mine with the TPvenom / 2 glide washers and stock BSB is around 3100. Also thinking that it should shift out just a tiny bit quicker down low which should help with mine still tapping the limiter a bit out of the hole.
