I'm happier than a pig in sh@t.
Now where's the snow, I can't wait to get this thing airborne, lol.
Seriously though, all the thanks and credit goes to Sean at Leisure Sports in Prince Albert SK. He sold me on the sled and stopped me from making a big mistake like head south of the border for a sled. Instead, I walked out of there with the best price he could give me, 3 years of warranty, 500 Yamabucks (which bought me a helmet, goggles, and kickazz blue Yamaha jacket), and most importantly, a feeling that I made the right decision... that's something not alot of salesman can accomplish.
Best part of all Sean (if you read this),
You know how I was expecting my wife to kill me when I got home... well she liked the look of it, the sound of it, and the smell of it (actually the lack of smell) so much, she forgot to get mad. Instead, she congratulated me on my purchase and said good riddence to the old two stroke.
All in all a pretty good day. Thanks again Sean. Oh, and one more thing... I bought a sled from you, now you have to return the favor and let me tag along with you and Blair Morgan on a trail-ride sometime. It's the least you can do, lol. Well, at least think about it, that's all I ask.

Congratulations on the new sled! The RTX's look awesome.
Any chance I could get you to lift the front end off the ground and measure the floats eye to eye? I'm curious what size are on there and I can't find any RTX's nearby.
Enjoy the new ride!!

Pics coming soon... I don't get home from work until after sunset, so I don't get much opportunity.
Question: I just want to feel the motor. Will it hurt anything to ride it on a patch of grassy field? Then maybe I'll get some cool photos.
tonymanto: what exactly do you want me to measure?

No problem riding it on the grass!
But dont do it for too long, then it will overheat.

hi chris, only if it's not inconvenient, I was wondering if you could measure the length of the fox float shock from bolt to bolt. I've been trying to find a part number everywhere, but have had no luck. There has been a few fox floats on ebay for other makes, so i'm hoping i can just buy something close to the lenght of your sled and put it on.....
As far as a quick ride in the grass... it shouldn't hurt it as long as you don't go super fast for long lengths. Only thing that will happen is you'll wear the hyfax a little quicker because there will be no water/snow to lube the hyfax, causing it to heat up and wear faster.... I ride in MN and most of the time there is lengths of bare spots in the trail systems. I bet I probably put on a total of 5 miles of strictly grass last year and I still have plenty of hyfax left. In other words, let it rip. You'll be fine. Plus, they hook up so much better, you have to try it for the experience.

Okay, I lifted it up and measured just under 16" (like 15-7/8) center-to-center. Hope this helps you out.

Can you take a picture of the rear?
The side panels under the seat, did you ask for those to be put on...or did it come out of the crate like that? Just wondering, the panels seem different than the accessories panels from last season and Yamaha said there was no problem.
Also if you could, pictures of the outer/inner idlers?
Thanks, congrats on a great ride IMO...

Very Nice! But, I think I like the black plastic on my '07 FX better than the gray, but that's just a personal choice.
osceolacabin:
About the side panels under the seat... I read they are just plastic shields that come as the stock choice now. If you want the aluminum ones you have to pay the extra.

How come I can't see my pics? Or any pics on this website for that matter.
About the grey body panels, I agree. I would prefer the black, especially because the grey shows off the ugly left-side cover more than the black.
But... the right side, I don't mind. I actually really like the grey. Go figure.
