OK boys I know this issue has been talked about before but i finally got around to looking the bearing for the drive shaft on the left side or speedo sensor side. The bearing was very dry but not toast so I just packed it up with grease and then put it back together again. A couple of questions. Will this bearing be OK if I continue to pack it with grease or should it be replaced? Also do I need to check the bearing on the right side as well. Figured I might as well do this now while it is tooo warm for snow  Thanks for any info.

If there was no corrosion in the bearing, packing it should keep it alive.

I install only NTN bearings, they have an excellent waterproof grease in them when delivered. (and they are truly fully packed) Many of the lesser priced replacment bearings have very little grease in them when they are new. :x

I did mine today also and it was pretty good . I only have 300 m on my sled but there was grease in there anyway . I added a bit and hopefully it will stay good.

I also like the access to it when you remove the side panel, it is alot easier to get to than the srx

Yes ger it was very easy to pack some grease in the bearing once you have pryed the seal cover off with a knife. A buddy of mine showed me this trick a couple of years ago and it diffinately makes it easy to do. When you are done just push the seal cover back on and you are good to go. The location is very easy to get at once you have removed the side cover. Will check the bearing again after a few hundred miles when ever that is   . Thanks for the info guys. I am glad that I do not have to check the bearing on the chaincase side. That one is a little more complicated. Just wanted to make sure that I did not have to replace the bearing because it was a defect or something. Once again this site has give out advice that has saved me a bearing this season. I would not have done this without seeing this on this site. Can't remember who put the original info on but thanks again. :D SNOW we need SNOW!!!!!
